After Kenji finished his first quest, he decided to train so he would get stronger and level up. He didn't want to just stop there. He knew things would get harder, and he had to be ready.
He decided to try the Water Ball spell he got from the monsters he killed and see if he could use it easily or if he needed to train to learn how to throw it right.
"Ok, so I should try using the spell somewhere farther away from the city, just in case. After all, it may hurt someone here" he said, walking through the busy road. He didn't want to cause any accidents.
Before that, Kenji first decided to go to his friend Akarui and ask him how to use the spell and how powerful it was.
"Hi Akarui, I was wondering if you can help me with the new spell I just got from those monsters," Kenji asked.
"Hi there, Kenji! Sure I'll help you with the spell you got," Akarui said smiling. "It's a ball formed by water, and you can use it anytime, anywhere!"
Kenji nodded. "So how do I use it?"
Akarui pointed with his finger. "You need to open the system and click on your inventory. There you'll find your spell. If you unlock more spells, they'll also appear there!"
"Oh, and you need to click the spell in your inventory to use it. It will appear in your hand. After that, you need to throw it by saying the name of the spell."
"I see, so I don't need to train to be able to control it. That's a relief," Kenji said.
Then he looked around. "So… should I try it here or somewhere else?"
"It's not a super powerful spell," Akarui replied, "but it does do damage. Like, it can ruin a tree or something like that. So do try it outside the city."
"Thanks, Akarui, for your help. I'll try using the Water Ball spell. Bye for now!" Kenji said, smiling and hoping he would be able to use the spell properly without mistakes.
"I'm glad to help you, Kenji! See you later!" Akarui said, waving with his hands.
After that, Kenji walked out of the city and went into a quiet forest. He picked one where monsters didn't live so they wouldn't get in his way while he was testing the spell. He looked around. The place was peaceful, full of trees, and no one was near.
He stood in front of a big tree, a few centimeters away.
Now I believe I'll be able to use the water ball spell properly. Let's try it!
Kenji opened the system and did exactly as Akarui told him. He went to his inventory and clicked on the new spell that had appeared there—Water Ball.
A second later, a spinning ball of water formed in his hand. It looked small but full of power. He pointed his hand forward and said,
"Water Ball."
In that moment, the ball made of water shot toward the tree—fast.
Boom!
The spell hit the middle of the tree, and a big hole appeared. Then, with a loud sound, the tree fell to the ground, crashing hard.
Kenji stared at it for a moment.
"Wow. That's good, I suppose. This could be useful when I'm fighting with monsters in the forest"he said, feeling more confident. The spell wasn't just for show. It really worked.
After trying the Water Ball spell, he decided to go back to the guild and thank Akarui again for helping him.
But while going back, something strange happened.
He saw a girl wandering in the forest.
She had purple hair and purple eyes, and she didn't look like someone from the city or the guild.
What is she doing here? Kenji thought, slowing down.
The forest was supposed to be empty. Most people didn't come out here unless they were adventurers. And this girl didn't look like one. She looked calm, almost like she was just walking for fun.
Kenji stayed quiet, hiding behind some bushes. He didn't want to scare her or be reckless. But something about her felt strange.
She wasn't holding a weapon. She wasn't looking around in fear. She was just… there.
Is she lost?Or is she watching something there?
Kenji narrowed his eyes. He didn't like weird things happening for no reason.
He took a slow step forward, careful not to make noise.
But the girl turned her head slightly—almost like she knew he was there.
Who is this girl…? And what is she doing here?
"Hi I'm Kenji, I'm an adventurer. What are you doing here in the forest if you don't mind me asking?"
"Hello there, Im Elize and it's nice to meet you. I was looking for something, I heard here is the thing I was looking for."
"I see so what is the thing you were looking for? I may be able to help you if you don't mind."
"I can't tell anyone what the thing I'm looking for is, im so sorry..."
"Ok then, I'll be going. Hope we meet again." Kenji said as he was going.
"Bye Kenji, I hope we will meet again too." Elize said and continued to search for the thing that she came here for.
Kenji went back to the guild and thank Akarui once again for helping him with the new spell, he also said how he handled it.
What a strange girl she was..I wonder what she could be looking for in that forest.. Kanji thought as he went back to his room.
Tomorrow he planned on going to another quest so he will try the Water ball spell on monsters and see how much demige it will be able to do and to earn more money.
He planned on going on a harder quest this time, a quest that pays you more than the last one and this time he was going alone, without Akarui's help.
