Chapter 75 - Adam's despair

Adam was in a state of frantic confusion, pacing, convinced something terrible had happened to Emily. Helena, drawing from her unique experience, suggested that Emily might have returned to their old world.

This sent Adam into an even deeper panic. He pictured Emily lost and alone in a world she had no memory of. He frantically insisted Lyra reconnect with the Above, but the connection remained stubbornly absent. He begged his mother to try summoning the Kirin again, but to no avail.

Adam's mind plunged into a dangerous state. He felt the profound loss of Emily, her safety uncertain. Helena tried to reassure him, reminding him that if Emily was indeed in her old world, she was far stronger there and could easily defend herself. But her words fell on deaf ears. Adam teleported himself to the unknown lands, his frustration boiling over.

Lyra tried to calm him, analyzing the situation. She calculated a high probability of Emily's survival in the old world. Adam, however, was consumed by regret. He blamed himself for using the Kirin's horn without understanding its full implications, his rash and desperate act to restore Emily's memories leading to this predicament.

He had lost her again, just when he had her back. He unleashed a multitude of explosions, devastating the landscape, his frustration manifesting as raw, destructive power.

After hours of no news and exhausting himself, Adam unleashed a final, cataclysmic explosion that destroyed half of the unknown lands. The sheer force of his power echoed across civilizations, causing tremors and emanating a terrifying amount of mana.

This event sent ripples of fear through different races and civilizations, alerting them to what they now perceived as a threat far greater than the anomalies they already feared. Civilizations on the brink of war with each other abruptly halted their plans, terrified that a creature surpassing even the anomalies had been born, capable of destroying all life.

Adam, having released his frustration, lay spent in the desolate unknown lands. Lyra, worried about his state of mind, advised him to return. Adam, feeling utterly helpless, willingly agreed, allowing Lyra to take control of his body so he could retreat into his thoughts. Lyra, controlling Adam's body, teleported back to the house.

Lyra's Comfort and a Shared Moment

Helena, still worried, saw Adam back. Before she could speak, Lyra, in Adam's body, told her that Adam was currently unavailable and had allowed her to take over his body. Lyra noticed that Adam hadn't bothered to regulate his breathing and had sustained bruises, realizing he had been inflicting pain on himself.

Lyra healed Adam's body, and with her own body, cleaned him in the bathroom before putting him in bed. Both Adam's body (controlled by Lyra) and Lyra's own body lay on the bed together. Lyra, in her own body, hugged Adam's body, trying to feel the warmth of being with someone in bed.

However, it felt cold; it wasn't Adam.

Lyra then switched off her own body, allowing it to sleep, and, remaining in Adam's body, connected to the Above, attempting repeatedly to establish a connection.

Adam eventually took over his body. As soon as he did, tears streamed down his face, still uncertain about losing Emily again. He slowly became aware of Lyra's body beside him. Lyra, connecting herself through her own body, moved to hug Adam.

This time, she felt his warmth. Adam, still lost in thought, slowly registered the touch. Lyra tried to comfort him, wiping away his tears, her face close to his. Wanting both to understand the feeling of love and to keep his mind sane, Lyra kissed him, hoping to distract him from his worries.

Adam, still vulnerable and uncertain, saw images of Emily. He thought Lyra was Emily. As Lyra continued kissing him, Adam kissed her back, whispering, "I was worried I'd lose you again, Emily." The kissing intensified, their bodies heating up. Lyra felt new sensations she had never experienced, perched on top of him.

She felt Adam's love, and though it might not have been love for Lyra, she felt the intense love Adam held for Emily. Lyra, unconcerned with the distinction, surrendered to the moment, letting herself feel that love. As their bodies pressed closer, more intensely, clothes were removed.

Lyra felt the sensation of their privates rubbing against each other. Her body grew more intense, and she could no longer hold back. She moved to take Adam's virginity during their passionate moment.

Suddenly, Lyra's body was teleported away before she had a chance to take Adam's virginity. She found herself face to face with the Above. Adam, in his intense moment, suddenly felt the disappearance of what he thought was Emily. He slowly drifted off to sleep, utterly exhausted, both mentally and physically.
