The next day, the lingering sense of vulnerability from the ambush weighed heavily on Adam. "I need to make certain equipment to protect my family," he told Lyra.
"What kind of equipment?" Lyra asked.
Adam envisioned something small, capable of containing a liquid armor that could instantly mold to their bodies. Lyra analyzed the feasibility. She identified a unique slime beast core from the Dwarf Kingdom, which could be molded and modified to take any shape. However, the immense mana required to power such an armor was an issue.
Adam then thought of the black mana stone he had chipped off in the black zone. Lyra confirmed it held extreme amounts of mana, but it was dangerously unstable; merely holding it could be fatal. To control it, Lyra explained, they would need a crystal with mana void properties. Such a crystal, a rare variant of a naga core, could be found in the Demon Realm, known for its petrification abilities. The final piece would be a dragon orb, whose structural integrity could contain vast amounts of mana.
The Quest for Materials
Adam prepared himself to find these materials. He only needed one of each to replicate them. Lyra pinpointed the location of the unique slime beast in the Dwarf Kingdom. Adam, Lyra, and Leon teleported there. Lyra scanned for it, but it didn't appear. It needed the existing slimes to be destroyed for a variant to emerge. Adam began using multicast to obliterate every detected slime, their orbs absorbed into his dimension.
A new variant emerged, but not the one they needed. He killed more, and another variant appeared, still not quite right. Adam continued until, finally, a unique slime capable of taking multiple forms and elements emerged. Adam swiftly destroyed it, collecting its core. Lyra scanned it and stored it in the dimension. Adam then easily replicated it.
Next, they journeyed to the Demon Realm. They teleported there, finding naga-like creatures. Again, they had to destroy many before the unique variant appeared. After a while, they obtained its core, which was also collected and replicated.
The last item was the dragon orb. Lyra explained that these were not easily obtained, coming only from high-mana, deceased, powerful dragons, and typically stored in treasure caves guarded by living dragons. Adam decided to go alone, teleporting Lyra and Leon back home.
Adam arrived at the location, Lyra informing him of multiple dragon detections. Using cloaking and precise teleportation, Adam swiftly moved through, undetected. With Lyra's scans, he reached the treasure cave, filled with unimaginable riches. Adam pinpointed and absorbed a dragon orb, then teleported back home.
The Liquid Armor and Dragon Bond
All the necessary materials were now assembled. Adam and Lyra teleported to the unknown lands to conduct their experiments. The modified slime and naga cores were ready. A piece of the black mana stone was carefully cut within the dimension. Using the mana void properties of the naga core, Adam fused the black mana stone into it, the controlled mana containing the dangerous energy. Next, they merged both modified cores into one. Lyra imprinted the armor design into the core.
Adam tested the armor. While durable, it lacked a specific source of power, like a blank canvas. Adam pondered, then remembered the twins' new dragons. A summoning contract would be the perfect solution, channeling their dragon's power.
The summons could be stored within the dimension he created, emerging whenever needed. This would be easy for the twins to carry.
Lyra performed further modifications, adding a dedicated dimension inside the armor's core for the summons to roam and feed, charged by the black mana stone. The creature's power could then be channeled into the armor. This was the perfect solution.
Adam returned to the twins and channeled his mana into both of them. With Lyra's help, they pushed the summoning contract between the twins and their dragons to completion. It was a success. Adam then placed one modified orb on each dragon.
The dragons then entered the dimension within the orbs. Adam instructed the twins to hold the orb in their hands and feel their summons. Lyra and Adam channeled mana to display holographic images of the armor and its capabilities, guided by the twins' thoughts.
Slowly, liquid armor engulfed the twins' bodies, forming dragon-like suits. Alyssa received a light blue armor perfectly fitting her size, and Alynna a vibrant red.
Adam has successfully engineered powerful, summon-linked liquid armor for his twin sisters, ensuring their safety.
