Chapter 99 - Emily's true identity revealed

Emily, still confused, asked the tribe leader to explain what he meant by her being the "favored one" and her involvement in a war centuries ago.

Adam, equally curious, listened intently. The tribe leader looked at Emily with a solemn expression.

"You are one of the oldest creatures ever to exist," he finally stated.

Emily was shocked, protesting the term "creature." The tribe leader explained that perhaps thousands of rebirths had made her forget her true nature. He then instructed her to summon the Kirin.

Emily and Adam were stunned by the command, but then Adam realized the horn that had fused with Emily might be the reason. Emily focused, and indeed, the Kirin appeared before her.

Emily asked the Kirin to recover all her memories. As the Kirin pointed its horn towards her heart, Emily's body began to transform, reverting to her original fiery red-haired form. Thousands of images and a flood of knowledge from her past rushed into her mind. Her body glowed, consumed by fiery flames, forcing Adam and the others to step back as her mana and power overflowed.

Emily then transformed into a giant phoenix, soaring into the sky, emitting a brilliant, majestic light that awed everyone present.

The Phoenix's Revelation

Emily descended, transforming back into her human form with fiery red hair. She gently touched Adam's face, now knowing the full truth of her existence. She was the Favored One, the immortal phoenix reborn from ashes.

She had fought wars, killed millions, and had been the lead protector of Earth during catastrophic incidents. She was also granted the name Wish Maker, capable of changing the tide of outcomes and manifesting reality around her.

Throughout her multiple rebirths, she had always preferred to live as a human. However, due to her immensely long lifespan compared to human's short lives, she constantly had to move from town to town. Every time she used her powers, her life energy drained. Her special mana, capable of creating realities, dwindled in environments lacking it, causing her to grow weaker and lose memories with each rebirth, forcing her to prematurely die and reborn.

She then remembered her rebirth as Emily, and her childhood with Adam. Adam was a sick child, not destined for a long life. Young Emily, unknowingly, noticed Adam's frail body. Every time they played and their palms touched, Emily was unconsciously giving her life force to Adam. He recovered, becoming healthy and living a good life with his parents.

Then tragedy struck Adam's family. Emily, worried for his mental well-being, was always there to cheer him up, encouraging him and begging him to live on. She loved Adam and didn't want him to leave her.

However, Adam was consumed by thoughts of his parents. In a desperate, last-ditch effort, Emily wished for a reality where Adam would be happy with his parents, forcing a premature rebirth due to her depleted mana and life force. Her wish altered reality around her to fit it. Her parents saw Emily fall sick with cancer, and she slowly reborn as a child.

Due to this premature rebirth and inability to properly recover, the Kirin intervened, taking Emily to another mana-rich dimension. Her body was left on an orphanage doorstep, where she grew up in the other world.

Due to the time difference between worlds, only the Kirin, with its unknown powers, could interfere. The Kirin specifically brought Emily to the world where Adam's parents were reborn, aligning with Emily's wish for Adam to reunite with his parents.

The Kirin had been protecting the realities for Emily, even safeguarding Adam's mother from danger. It had even reached the unknown lands to guide Adam and provide him with the horn that would eventually return to Emily.

Whether coincidence, fate, or planned, Emily was now poised to regain her full power. Her ability to manifest reality was so strong that even with amnesia, it could be dangerous to herself. She had unknowingly altered the reality for herself and her parents, causing the memory fog.

Only when her desire to remember Adam became strong enough did her reality shift again, allowing the Kirin to bring her back to her senses and reunite her with Adam. Emily, overwhelmed by the reality of her true being and immense powers, now saw everything differently. She fully understood Adam's importance, her eyes gleaming with ancient knowledge.
