Emily looked at Adam, her expression grave. "My existence here is to fight the invading force," she revealed. Seeing his confusion, she began to explain her true nature. She spoke of being the immortal phoenix, the Favored One, reborn countless times, and how Adam himself carried a part of her life force from her time as Emily.
"The very reason for your existence may be linked to saving the Earth," she explained, "though perhaps not in the way you'd expect." Phoenixes, she continued, are unable to reproduce. However, Adam, having received a lifetime of her life force, might be the one exception—the person through whom she could create an offspring.
These children, she believed, could be the key to winning the war and maintaining the balance of this world.
Adam, still reeling, asked why only him. Emily elaborated that for a phoenix's life force to be fully given, she would typically have to be reborn, meaning she wouldn't exist in that lifetime with the recipient, and her memories would be wiped. But Adam's unique circumstances, his prior illness and her unconscious transfer of life force, had made him the right person at the right time.
A Wedding and a New Purpose
Emily then looked at Adam, her gaze steady. "Are you ready to get married?"
Adam, still processing the enormity of her revelation, agreed. Under the watchful eyes of the various beast tribes, who perceived his family and friends as fellow creatures, Adam's family and friends were brought over to the Spiritual Realm to witness the wedding.
Emily and Adam exchanged vows, with the tribe leader bearing witness. Cheers erupted as everyone celebrated the joyous occasion. Adam, with a flourish, conjured abundant cuisine from his dimension, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
After the ceremony, Adam easily produced gold coins from his dimension to be sold in this world, using the proceeds to secure a house for himself and Emily after their official registration. Their new home was imbued with mana, now featuring a portal for visitors from the Spiritual Realm.
Kirin, Emily's long-time friend, shifted into his male human form, introducing himself as Nirik. He announced his intention to stay with them, though he would disappear from time to time, a part of his work in maintaining balance across multiple worlds. With Nirik's help, Adam was able to connect with Lyra occasionally, sharing updates on their situation.
Finally, Adam and Emily were married, and for the first time, they were truly alone. No disturbances, no neuro-links, just the two of them. Adam gently pulled Emily into the room and eased her onto the bed. He gazed at her intensely, a flood of memories washing over him. Emily, surprised by his newfound boldness, watched him.
"Emily," Adam began, his voice thick with emotion, "I have always loved you. From our time in this world, and in the other world, I've always loved you. I didn't get a chance to say it before. Now, with your memories back, I love you, Emily. I want you to be with me until my dying breath. Hold my hand through this life and never let go." He intertwined their fingers, then leaned in, kissing her slowly and passionately.
"I love you too," Emily whispered as he pulled away. Adam began to kiss her neck, trailing his lips down her body. Emily squirmed as his tongue followed, a burning sensation building within her. She tightened her thighs, pulling his head closer, wanting more.
Adam continued, driving her wild until she was wet with desire. He pulled out his dick and, with a passionate kiss, finally inserted it into her, feeling Emily completely for the very first time. Days and nights of pent-up frustration poured out as he moved roughly, his thrusts powerful.
Emily's voice broke, her cries only fueling Adam's passion, making him harder, pushing deeper, their bodies burning with sensation. The night stretched on, a symphony of pleasure as they reached multiple climaxes, utterly exhausted by morning.
This was the longest, most intense experiment of love they had ever shared, a culmination of years of waiting and desire.
For two weeks, they remained in a blissful, insatiable haze of rest, food, and sex. They were like animals in heat, oblivious to the world outside their door. No one dared approach their house. They simply indulged every desire.
A Prophecy and a Departure
Then, after two weeks, Nirik arrived, announcing he needed to speak with them both. "This period," he explained, "is your moment of peace. Within this year, portals will appear and wreak havoc on Earth. Many creatures will perish, and their fate rests solely on your hands." Nirik clarified that he couldn't help with the portals or their actions.
However, he could perceive all timelines—past and present—simultaneously. He would continue to disappear from time to time, maintaining peace and stability between worlds.
Adam asked if there was anything he could do to help maintain this balance. Nirik smiled mysteriously. "Adam has already done what needs to be done." He then say casually, "I need to save Adam from a zombie apocalypse, maybe even save him from drowning deep in the ocean." He smirked, looking directly at Adam.
Adam was utterly confused, unsure if Nirik was joking or speaking the truth.
Nirik turned to Emily. "Don't worry about Adam's safety." Emily, understanding the cryptic message, told Nirik she would always await his return. Nirik bowed to them both. He looked at Adam, a knowing smile on his face as if he saw Adam's future, then disappeared.
Adam looked at Emily, still questioning. "Was he joking?"
Emily smiled, a glint in her eye. "Nirik doesn't know how to joke."
Adam and Emily's passionate reunion has finally been consummated, but it is swiftly followed by a cryptic prophecy from Nirik, hinting at future calamities and Adam's unique role.
