Moth glared at the person restraining him, kicking her away from him and using his sharp teeth to tear through his restraints. He darted over to Lane, arms outstretched as he hugged him, burying his face in his chest. "You came for me. I was so scared." Lane wrapped his arms around him, making sure to keep a hold on his axe and put it around him in a protective manner. "I wouldn't leave you. Don't worry." Dorian stared at the two with a look of fascination and a slightly tilted head. "A human caring for a humanoid? How strange." L
"Stay away from him." Lane snapped at him through gritted teeth. Dorian smirked at him in amusement before turning his head to the kidnappers and speaking. "Get them, bring them both here and I will pay you the other half." They grinned at the chance to get more money, brandishing their knives and swords as they approached Lane who glared at them and sighed.
He moved Moth to sit him on the ground behind him leaned up against the wall. "Wait here okay?" He took a long black cloth out of his bag and wrapped it around him. "You got my cloak." Moth said in surprise as he pulled it over himself, shivering slightly. A large hood falls over his eyes as a hand is placed on his head. "Stay here for a moment, this won't take long. Don't look." Lane goes to move away, brandishing his axe with an intense look on his face. Moth tugged on Lane's arm, trying to stop him. "Hang on, let's just run." Lane pushed Moth's hand away before glaring at him. "Wait a moment." He repeated. Moth silently nodded and lowered his head before he walked towards the incoming attackers. His axe hung loosely in one of his hands as he glared at the people, the look on his face made the attackers freeze for a moment in terror. "Die." Lane's low voice rang through the area accompanied by a low Walker-like screech that shocked the people around him, even Dorian's eyes widened a fraction at the sound. He moved forward, his movements fluid and seemingly inhuman. he moved his axe up in a slashing motion, slicing one of the people in half, diagonally. He moved swiftly, leaping up and slicing the arm off of the next one, pushing him to the ground as he stomped over him, crushing his head and swinging the axe around and loping the legs off the next one and then his head as the man started to fall to the ground. He moved to the final person, he wanted to make it slow and painful but Moth wanted to leave so he had to make it quick, with a final slash the man was cut in half horizontally.
Lane's bloodthirsty eyes moved to Dorian as if challenging him, Dorian smiled and put his hands up in surrender. Lane started to move towards him but stopped, his eyes widening in fear when he heard Moth cough from behind him, he darted over to him, cradling him in his arms. "Are you okay? Are you sick?"
"I'm okay, we need to get out of here." Lane nodded in agreement, shifting him in his arms before glancing back at Dorian a final time and leaping over the wall. Dorian scoffed a little then tilted his head as he looked out at the pile of bodies Lane left in his path. "What a monster." He mumbled to himself. "Those two sure are a strange pair, the human doesn't seem entirely normal and that humanoid seems to have some interesting abilities. I'm a bit upset they got away but I suppose this will be interesting." The servant looked up at him in confusion. "Shouldn't we forget about them, that human seemed quite protective of the humanoid." She looked at the bodies in fear and disgust. He chuckled slightly, "Of course not. It's our duty to capture any humanoids, they are too dangerous to be allowed to roam free."

Lane ducked down a beaten alleyway, breathing heavily as he checked that no one was following them before looking down at the man in his hands who was shaking from exhaustion as he placed him down. "Moth, are you okay?" He tilted Moth's head up towards him.
"Yeah. Can you untie my wings? I can't move properly with them restrained like this." Moth mutters as he glances back at his bound wings that were still wet and dirty. "Sure." Lane moves his hands over to the person's back, fumbling a little with the ties around his back. They finally snap off and Moth brings one of his wings around to look at them. "They are so dirty, thank god they didn't tear. They would have been a pain to heal." He looks up at Lane's worried expression and smiles, reaching out and running a calming hand through his hair. "I'm okay, just a little tired and hungry." Lane tosses his bag over his shoulder, taking out some food and holding it to his mouth. Moth takes it out of his hand, laughing slightly. "I'm not that tired that I can't feed myself. However, if you could hold onto me, that would be helpful. I'm out of energy."
"We need to get out of the city." Lane says as he moves to hug Moth, he puts an arm around his waist and pulls his head to him resting it on his shoulder, he seems un-bothered as he feels his energy drain from the touch. "We're in a city?" Moth asked while leaning into Lane's touch. "Yes, that bastard runs this city, so we need to escape before anyone finds us. Do you think you have the strength to run?" Moth considered the question for a moment before lifting up a hand and observing how his body was shaking. "Not yet, maybe after a day's rest." He says, biting into the food and nestling himself into Lane's neck. "Then we should find a place to stay for the night." I think this place has a lot of abandoned and broken areas from the original shock of the apocalypse, we should be able to hide there. He helps Moth to stand with a hand around his waist before he tightens the cloak around him to hide his wings and pulls the hood over his head to hide his antennae. "Keep these on around anyone else but me. It's dangerous."
Moth laughs, his lip splitting open again as he does. "I know, don't worry." Lane frowns, getting a good look at the wounds on his face. "I shouldn't have let them off so easily." Moth chuckled slightly as he pulled the hood further over his head, leaning on Lane for support. "Where are we going to go?" Moth asked. "The working district, it'll be easier to find a place to stay there." Moth kept his head down to try to avoid people's eyes who were walking by them. "Have you been here before?" He asked. Lane simply shrugged, pulling Moth closer. "A few times for jobs and trades."
"Is that what your settlement did?" Lane glanced down at him. "Yes, the men of the settlement took on bounties and jobs for people to make a living. We were heading back from a job when we were attacked by Sally." Moth clung to his arm as they walked, when no one was around he would perk his head up and look around curiously. Before bowing his head and cling tighter to Lane as someone would pass by. They passed over a bridge. While Moth leaned out and looked at the frozen river in curiosity, Lane had his eyes focused on him, staring at him almost entranced. His eyes flicked ahead, his green pupils glancing around in curiosity. I guess this hasn't swayed his curiosity in humans. How unfortunate. We can't stay at a hotel or inn here, they'll turn us in. Our best bet is to find a tree or abandoned building to set up in. He looked around as they walked through the streets, his eyes landing on a half broken skyscraper sitting apart from the small handmade houses up on a small hill. Grabbing Moth's hand, he leads him into the building, carrying him up a few flights of stairs before arriving at the final, half torn down floor of the building; he sits Moth on the ground as he pulls out the hammock from his bag, tying it around two pillars. During this, Moth stood up, pulling out some threads and setting up trip wires at the entrances to the roof, tying them around his fingers to alert him of any movements.
"You need to sleep." Lane said appearing from behind him before picking him up and scaring Moth slightly. Lane trudged over to the hammock with Moth in his arms. He gently placed Moth into the hammock and took off his own cloak to give him as a blanket. "Hey, don't pick people up without asking." Moth complained with a small smile on face. He waited for a reply but instead Lane reached into his bag, pulling out an ointment for his bruises and cuts. "Hold on, we shouldn't waste that on my injuries. We might need it later on."
"It's fine." Lane mumbles, moving a hand towards his face. Moth grabbed his wrist, moving him away. "I'm fine. Save it for something important." Lane glared at him, "This is important, just let me do it." Moth looked into his eyes that were filled with hurt, worry and slight desperation. He sighed and dropped his hand, letting his hand come up to his face and rub the ointment into his lip and around his eyes. "Are you hurt anywhere else?" Moth avoided his eyes, turning over in the hammock as he felt his face get hot. "No, I'm alright." He unconsciously clutched his stomach which was throbbing in pain.
"You are lying." He turned Moth towards him and lifted up his shirt, staring at the welts on his stomach. "It's not as bad as it looks, I promise." Lane wordlessly leaned down, pulling out bandages from his bag and sitting Moth up, wrapping the bandages around his midsection. "You shouldn't hide your injuries from me." Lane commented as he stared intensely at Moth's face. "It feels like a waste. As a humanoid I heal faster than you. These injuries will heal in a few days."
"That doesn't matter. You should have said something. Now, go to sleep." Lane sits down on the ground next to him, leaning up against one of the pillars the hammock was tied to. "Are you going to sleep on the ground?" Moth asked, leaning out of the hammock to look down at him. "Yes. I've slept on worse." He closes his eyes and leans his head against the pole. The two are silent for a moment as Moth looks at him, admiring his face. "Why don't you sleep up here with me? I need more energy and you need to sleep on something more comfortable." Lane glanced up at the eyes peering down at him before he stood up, climbing into the hammock with him. He pulled Moth on top of him so he was resting his head against his chest and pulled his arms around him to hug him.
"Moth. Do you want to stay with me from now on? I don't want to join any human settlements anymore, I want to keep you safe." Lane seemed a bit surprised but smiled. "I'd be happy with that." He rested his head against his chest again, falling asleep quickly. Lane smiled to himself as he held onto the delicate man in his arms, he pulled his cloak around them to protect them both from the softly falling snow as the smell of peppermint filled the air causing Lane to sigh deeply and squeeze him slightly tighter as he drifted off to sleep.
