Chapter 10 - Chapter 10.

Moth groaned slightly as he woke up, the harsh sunlight blinded him so he pulled up one of his wings to cover his face from the sun. He tried to sit up and stretch but was stopped by two arms that were firmly secured around his back, he looked down at the man beneath him. Lane's expression was loose and calm in his sleep compared to the usual tense and cautious look that would cover his features. Moth stared at him for a moment, admiring his face. He's really is good looking.  Moth's face got hot as he laid back down, covering his face with his hands. "Moth?" Lane mumbled, still half asleep.

Moth sits up, pulling out of his grasp reaching up and putting a hand through Lane's hair. "Are you feeling okay?" He groans a little, wrapping his arms around him again and pulling him down. "Sleepy." He rubbed his face against him in his dazed state. Moth blushes slightly feeling the warmth of his cheek nuzzling against his chest. "Hey, I'm feeling better so we should probably get out of here, right?" Lane stopped rubbing against him and sat up. "Yeah. We should get some food and supplies before we go as well, who knows when we'll get another chance to restock." Moth nodded as he climbed out of the hammock. He stretched his wings in the morning sun, checking to see if they had dried yet. They were still slightly moist to the touch so he fanned them out to help them catch the sun. Lane watched him from the hammock before he himself climbed out and packed up all their belongings into his bag. I'll have to get Moth a bag and some other items. Not that I have enough money for it. He frowned slightly thinking about how to get money when he looked down at his cloak and then to Moth. "Moth, you made this cloak right?" Moth looked up at him and nodded. "I haven't ever seen such a thin but warm material. I bet it would sell well." Moth tilted his head, "I suppose."

"Can you make more?" Moth weaves his hands together forming a small strip of fabric. "Yeah it's pretty easy. Why?"

"We're going to sell it. Just enough to have enough money we need to gather the materials and path to get out of here. We shouldn't sell too much, it will draw attention."

The seamstress examined the fabric in front of her, her eyes scanning it intently with interest. "This fabric is incredible. Where did you two find this?" She looked up to the two people standing at her counter, a tall man with dark brown hair and a tough disposition and a small thinner man with a large cloak wrapped tightly around his body and a hood hung low to cover the top half of his face but she could see tufts of his white hair peeking out. "We found it in a ruined building, we're willing to sell it to you for 10 gold pieces." She scoffed "10? Come on, even a novice would know that that's a low number for this item. You want something else, don't you?" She grins at the taller man, waiting for his demands.

He folds his arm across his body, glaring down at her. "A trip out of here. Through the secret tunnels under the city, and no one can know where we are headed." She hums in thought, "You sure know this materials' worth. Those cloaks look like they are made from the same material as well. Do you have any more?" Lane tapped his foot impatiently before sighing while Moth glanced between the two marveling at the human concept of 'bartering'. "... We can get you one more length if you can get us out of here but I want those water canisters as well." He states, pointing up to the leather water canisters that Moth had glanced at on the way in. "Deal." She goes to take the fabric but Lane pulls it out of her reach. "You'll get one part for the money and the other when you lead us to the tunnel." The woman smirked and looked between the two. "What are you two running from?"

"That isn't any of your business. We can go elsewhere if you plan to ask questions." The woman laughed, putting her hands up in surrender. "Alright. I get it." Lane turns and walks away while Moth goes to follow but is quickly stopped, "Wait. Can he stay here with you? I don't want to take him out too much, he's injured." Moth's eyes widened and he stared up at lane in shock. "What? You are going to leave me here?" Lane put his hands on his shoulders and leaned down to be on his level. "Just for a little, I'll be back in an hour or so. Don't worry." Moth pushed his hands away. "You are leaving me alone again?" Lane's mouth tightens and he has a pained look on his face as he stares down at him. "I'm sorry, but it's safer for you to stay here. Don't be worried, I'll come back for you."

Moth turned his face towards the seamstress before glancing back at his companion. "Alright." He finally said dejectedly which the she thought was rather cute. Lane wrapped him in a hug before heading out the door and disappearing into the street. Once the man was out of view the Moth turned to her, rubbing his arm nervously. "Do you have a back room I could hide in until Lane gets back?" The woman smiled at him and showed him into her fabrics room, the man's eyes seemed to light up when he entered the room, looking at all the different types and colors of fabrics. "Do you like them?' She asks with a slight chuckle. "Yeah, I do. I didn't know fabrics could have so many different textures and thicknesses." She watched as he darted about the room, feeling all the fabrics as he went. "I'm Cecil by the wa-" Her eyes caught on something that was fluttering underneath his cloak. Something with a pink and grey patterning. 'A second cloak? The colour is really pretty, I'd really like to get a look at it. "Hold on, can I have a look at the pink cloak you are wearing?"

He turned his head towards her in confusion. "What cloak?" She reached out, tugging the long black cloak off him. "The one you are wearing." The cloak fell, revealing his bright wings and antennae. Oh. She stared at him in shock, the man's pretty green eyes matching her wide-eyed expression. A humanoid?

He finished collecting the final items he wanted to collect for him and Moth before heading straight back to the store as he didn't want to leave Moth alone for any longer than necessary. He collected a bag, food and some supplies that they would need to spend a week or so in the wilderness. I don't want to take Rin near any more humans, we'll settle somewhere deep in the forest and spend our lives there. We can grow plants and raise animals to live off so we never have to go anywhere. He smiled to himself thinking about his quiet life with Moth as he arrived at the seamstresses store, he opened the door to find it quiet and empty. "Moth."

"Moth?" He called, his voice now slightly stained as he frantically looked around the room. He pulled his axe out from underneath his cloak, holding it tightly as he moved to the backroom. Did she find out? Is he gone again? If he is gone again I'll kill her. He opened the door and stared in, tilting his head in confusion. Moth was standing in the center of the room with the Cecil next to him, wrapping a tape measure around his waist. "Lane, you are back." Moth called happily, his antennae perking up with joy but the desperate look on his face was asking him to get her off him. "Hey don't move. I'm still measuring you." Moth murmured his apologies to her, looking uncomfortable.

"Get off him. No touching." Lane moves over to them, pulling the seamstress away from Moth with an annoyed look. Cecil pouts a little, "Come on. I haven't felt this inspired by someone in a long time. Let me do a few sketches of him and take his measurements. It would be fun to design clothes for someone with wings." He glares down at her with a pissed off look as he pulled Moth into his arms. "No, leave him alone." She pouts "So stingy." She mutters in disappointment.

Moth moves over to Lane, hiding behind him and whispering into his ear. "I thought you said that humans were scared of me." He had a small smile on his face as he said this seemingly happy by the idea of him having a good relationship with humans. "I think this one is a little weird." Lane mumbles back to him with a small smirk. "What did you get?" He glances down to the bag in Lane's hands. "A bag for you and supplies for us." He puts the bag over Moth's shoulder, it was a bag with a drawstring top that went over one shoulder and rested by his hip. "I figured this would be better considering you can't wear a backpack." Moth seemed a bit surprised by his consideration but grins up at him, "Thanks Lane."

"You two are really cute." Lane shot her a glare as he pulled Moth's cloak back over him. "We're ready to go so lead us to the tunnel." Cecil glanced at Moth. "Are you sure you two don't want to stick around for a little longer, I'd love to touch your wings." Lane stepped in front of Moth glaring at her. "No. We are leaving now, unless you don't want the fabric." Her ears perked up at the mention of the fabric. "Let's get going then."
