"That incident sir?" His officer asked him.
"As you might recall we had a war with Thundara around 10 years ago. Thundara was a country known for its thick jungles, stormy weather, and most importantly, its brave and powerful warriors." Tenjin replied.
"Yes sir, it was a great victory for us, we crushed the enemy completely and took control of their territory. Do you think they want revenge for us conquering their country?"
"I'm sure that's at the bottom of their priorities right now. What they really want is vengeance for the massive tragedy that befell them when their capital fell to us."
"Tragedy? What do you mean sir?"
"After the successful siege of their capital, the commanding general ordered the soldiers that surrendered to be buried alive, the city was burned to the ground, and the civilians were butchered. All in all, over 500,000 people were killed in one day, and that's not including the men that were killed in battle."
"I don't recall ever hearing about anything like that."
"That's because the one who ordered those atrocities was another one of the 7 Great Generals. Therefore, the entire incident was swept under the rug. Though clearly Ma Chong and his compatriots haven't forgotten. And how could they."
Meanwhile, Gaileo and Ma Chong's fight continued to carry on with all of Ma Chong's strikes being effortlessly parried by Gaileo.
"Ha! You talked a big game about how you can't afford to lose but your strikes have no weight. I guess your attacks are as light as your motivations." Gaileo said.
"You have no idea about the weight I carry." Ma Chong replied.
Suddenly, Gaileo was sent flying and was bombarded by heavy strikes from all angles. He tried to block, but was perplexed when he saw that Ma Chong wasn't making any movements. It seemed as if the strikes were appearing out of thin air.
"What was that?" Gaileo thought to himself.
Ma Chong attacked again and again it was a practically weightless strike that was easily blocked by Gaileo. But again, after he disengaged Gaileo was suddenly struck by a heavy blow out of nowhere. That's when he grasped the ability of Ma Chong.
"So that how it is." He thought.
During their next exchange, Gaileo parried and blocked as he always did, but this time he continued to brace himself afterwards and weathered the next barrage of strikes that suddenly struck him.
"Impressive, you seemed to figure out my ability relatively quickly." Ma Chong said as he disengaged from the melee. "My ability is called Delayed Impact, it's pretty self explanatory and as you've already figured out, I can delay the impact from each of my strikes to catch my opponents off guard."
Gaileo had remained braced to deal with any delayed strikes, and Ma Chong rushed forward to strike again. He was about to be blocked by Gaileo again, but he quickly changed the direction and his strike and landed a direct blow to a spot that wasn't guarded by Gaileo. Unlike the other attacks, this time the direct strike by Ma Chong's club had the power behind it to send Gaileo flying.
"Of course, I don't have to delay the impact of my strikes. I can obviously strike normally just like that. If you remain too rigid like that you won't be able to stop my normal strikes, but if you don't remain on guard you'll be vulnerable to my delayed strikes. In other words either way you will be crushed by my attacks. Your defeat is inevitable!" Ma Chong said as he raised his club and rushed in for his next barrage of strikes.
"Now! Feel the weight of all those years you oppressed our people! All the innocent people who you slaughtered in Thundara! Feel that weight, and be utterly crushed by it!" He passionately howled as he landed another blow that was blocked, but the delayed strikes sent Gaileo's spear flying.
Just his spear, Gaileo himself had seemed to disappear. Just as Ma Chong was trying to figure out where Gaileo went, his helmet exploded and a gash appeared across his cheek.
"Shut your mouth already. You talk too much. None of what you're saying even matters." Gaileo said as he appeared behind Ma Chong.
"How dare you? My people-" Ma Chong started to say before he was cut off by Gaileo.
"I said that doesn't matter! I'm not the one that oppressed or slaughtered your people, assuming that story is even true, and you're not your people. This is a fight between just you and me the rest can wait until afterwards." He said as he prepared to strike again.
"Ha! You speak like a petulant child! I'll show you the true power of a man driven by the will to avenge his people!" Ma Chong said as he swung his club down on Gaileo as he rushed in and caved his skull in.
Or so it appeared.
Gaileo's body had shifted almost like it was made of smoke, or maybe water, and he appeared beside Ma Chong and landed a punch that sent him flying.
"Then I'll show you the power of the man who will unify these lands and become Emperor." Gaileo said resolutely.
