Chapter 7 - Staying Behind

After learning that the country he was in was called the Land of Water, Rin was almost certain that he was in the world of Naruto.

Struggling to mask the shock on his face,

He turned his gaze towards his young aunt, who was still hiding behind his mother, peering at him with curious, wide eyes.

So this is Haku from when she was little. How cute.

But is she really a girl?

If I remember correctly, the official data indicated that he should be a boy...

Yuki Rin thought to himself.

Noticing Rin's gaze, a blush appeared on Haku's cheeks, and she shrank further behind her mother, looking somewhat shy.

"Haku, don't be rude. This is Rin, you should call him brother!"

"Come on, greet Rin properly!"

Seeing Rin curiously looking at Haku, Eiji's weary face softened into a gentle smile, and he spoke softly to Haku, who was hiding behind her mother.

Hearing her father, and with her mother's gentle encouragement,

Haku hesitantly stepped forward, peeking out like a small animal, and whispered softly to Rin.

"Hello, Brother Rin..."

Hearing Haku's soft and sweet voice,

Rin collected himself, smiling warmly as he returned the greeting.

"Nice to meet you, Haku. You are very cute."

Receiving Rin's compliment, Haku blushed again and shyly hid behind her mother, occasionally peeking at Rin.

The sudden information disrupted Rin's plans.

Initially, he intended to travel the world with Kuroro, as he had little to no knowledge about this world.

But now it seemed that leaving was temporarily impossible.

After all...

While talking with Eiji, Yuki Rin secretly observed his uncle.

It was hard to imagine that this gentle and kind-hearted uncle would one day kill his aunt and even attempt to kill the adorable Haku!

According to his memory, this tragic event happened when Haku was about three or four years old, within the next year or two.

Since he was in this world, Yuki Rin couldn't let such a tragedy happen again.

"Uncle, can I really live with you?"

Rin's young face showed a feigned excitement as he looked at Eiji with a slightly pitiful expression.

"Of course, Rin, stay with us and consider this your home!"

Eiji's face showed a loving expression as he gently patted Rin's head and spoke softly.

After that, he glanced at the woman beside him and said softly.

"It's alright for Rin to stay with us, right, Keiko?"

Naturally, Rin's aunt wouldn't refuse. She nodded gently and looked at Rin with a soft gaze.

"Of course, Rin is a good boy. It would be wonderful for him to stay with Haku."

Eiji's weary face blushed slightly with joy. He gently patted Rin's shoulder and smiled.

"Did you hear that, Rin? Stay without any burden."

"Your aunt and I will treat you like our own child, just like Haku."

Hearing this, Rin nodded happily and smiled.

"Thank you, Uncle Eiji and Aunt Keiko."

He then waved at Haku, who was hiding behind Keiko, and smiled.

"And thank Haku too."

Haku's little face turned red again, and a smile appeared on her lips.

Although she didn't fully understand what was happening,

She felt a sense of warmth from this older brother.

"By the way, Uncle and Aunt, I brought some things for you this time."

"Since I'll be troubling you in the future, please accept these!"

Yuki Rin seemed to think of something, clapping his hands, and spoke softly to Eiji and Keiko.

He then quickly ran to Kuroro's side, stood on tiptoe to take down the pack Kuroro was carrying, and winked at him.

Although Kuroro didn't understand what Rin was implying,

As long as Rin was safe and happy, he wouldn't stop him.

Yuki Rin, panting, blushing, and struggling, carried the pack to Eiji and Keiko, happily opening it to reveal various foods and valuable herbs.

Seeing these items, Eiji and Keiko exchanged surprised glances, not knowing what to say.

"Rin, where did these things come from?"

Keiko asked worriedly, glancing at Kuroro, while Eiji shared the same worried and puzzled look.

Rin guessed their concern and quickly explained with a smile.

"Don't worry, my master bought these for me."

"After my parents passed away, my master took great care of me along the way."

Eiji and Keiko exchanged looks again.

Eiji showed a troubled expression, smiling bitterly.

"Rin, we can't accept these. These are your master's care for you."

Rin thought for a moment and then said seriously.

"My master will probably stay with me too, so we'll definitely trouble you sometimes. Consider this an advance thank you."

Noticing the troubled expressions on Eiji and Keiko's faces, Rin quickly added.

"Don't worry, Uncle will find a house nearby for my master. Only I will trouble you and Aunt, hehe."

He then turned to Kuroro and shouted.

"Isn't that right, Master?"

Though standing a bit far away, Kuroro could hear their conversation and nodded lightly.

Hearing Rin's explanation and seeing Kuroro's attitude, Eiji and Keiko's expressions relaxed slightly.

After all, their house was very simple and not large.

If it was just their nephew Rin, it would be no problem, but adding a stranger, even they would find it difficult.

"We'll keep a small portion then. There are too many things."

In the end, Eiji decided to keep only a small portion of the food, leaving the rest for Kuroro.

Rin didn't object. There would be time to improve their lives in the future.

Temporarily placing the pack in Eiji's home,

Rin sat on the floor, took out a soft roasted chicken, and handed it to Haku, with a gentle smile.

Seeing this, Eiji and Keiko didn't stop him. They watched with satisfaction as the two children interacted.

Haku, nibbling on her finger, eyed the roasted chicken eagerly but didn't step forward.

She looked at her mother first. After receiving a nod and a smile, she cautiously approached Rin.

Haku resisted her hunger by taking the roasted chicken, first politely thanking Rin softly.

"Th... Thank you, Brother Rin..."

Rin smiled gently and reminded her softly.

"Haku, eat slowly, don't choke."

Watching Haku happily nibble on the chicken, Rin felt a warm sensation in his heart, silently vowing.

No matter what, I will protect this innocent little one!

Even in this chaotic world of ninja and slaughter, I will create a safe haven for her.

After successfully getting Haku to open up, Rin and Kuroro prepared to go out.

"Rin, where are you going...?"

Seeing their actions, Eiji asked curiously.

Rin explained softly.

"Uncle, I'm going with Master to look for a house. Don't worry, I'll be back by night."

Though Eiji was a bit worried, he didn't stop them.

Even as an ordinary person, he could sense the unusual aura around Kuroro, ensuring Rin's safety.
