Keifer's POV:-
She came outside after helping mam Cindy make food
"Food is ready", she announced. I knew she was still sad. Everybody rushed outside at once as if it was a stampede or something. It was only me, Yuri and Jayjay now in the room.
Yuri turned to Jay, "Are you feeling better?", he asked her
"Yeah I am fine", she answered.
She was not fine, I knew it
"Sorry we could not stop Angelo", Yuri apologised
"It's okay, you can go and eat", she said with a smile. A smile masking pain
I crept up behind her and she turned back, she was shocked for a moment but then recognized me.
"Come on let's g-", she was going to say something but I could not bear seeing her like this. I pulled her into a hug without warning. She hugged me back, I knew she needed this
Her voice cracked, "I am so embarrassed"🥹
"You don't have to be, we all have been embarrassed in front of each other"
"I know but I cant help it"
I needed to make her feel like she can be as embarrassed as she wanted in front of us. I wanted to make her feel comfort
"Okay, let me tell you some embarrassing stories of us. A debt collector cursed Drew when we confronted him. Cian would get insulted by his brother everytime he was quoted happy with us. Felix was called a dumb nothing by his aunt who refused to consider him as family."
She fell silent, as if she was taking in everything I just said. My grip around her tightened and I rested her head on my shoulder
"You have every right to be ashamed. But you are not alone, the whole section is with you. Don't worry about what our friends are thinking.", I pressed a firm kiss on her forehead. "Even I was embarrassed. Remember when my dad kidnapped all of you and brought you to his house? I did not want for you to meet him.", my voice darkened a the next words. "He is a monster"
She looked at me as if she was thinking about something. "I don't remember you being shy?", she said. This girl had no idea how much I loved her. I chuckled and said, "If only you knew, I wanted to run over him, just so I could get you out and keep you safe."
I then continued, "And then there was the thought challenged Dylan". She looked at me annoyed, "I was scared for you guys could have lost your mothers efforts because of me". Her words sent an unfamiliar stream of warmth through my body, hearing her thinking about my mothers legacy and worrying about me made my heart melt. "Besides", she continued, "That was way too scary I am not doing that again"
"As you should. Do you think you are bulletproof or something?", I said worriedly and she chuckled
I brought my face closer to hers and her eyes widened. "Hey!", she interrupted
"What? No one is around;", She glanced around the room and gave me a nod. My lips immediately pressed against hers and our kiss deepened. It felt like a dance around each others lips, like a hot secret of intimacy in each peck
I only knew three things at that time:-
1. I will always protect her
2. She is and always will me MY Mrs Watson
3. I can't wait for caretaker and watcher
Suddenly, she pulled away. "Kuya will see us and then torture you again". I chuckled, she locked her fingers with mine and started walking towards the dining room
We ate together and then Sir Alvin gave Jay some work. Yuri asked Jay if she needed some help but sir declined. But I decided I would watch over her while she was struggling. She sat down and was solving for a long while before I interrupted, "Are you done yet?"
"I did not even realize you were here"
"Yes well I stayed quiet so I wouldn't disturb you, and anyways admiring you never gets boring" I cracked a smile and walked over to her, taking the papers from her hand. She was staring intensely at waiting for an answer
"39/50", I announced. She immediately started clapping and jumping around
"I am so proud of you", I said with a smile.
Suddenly she hugged me and placed a small kiss on my cheek that left me as red as a tomato. She giggled with what I was looking like. This girl is changing me every day
Later everybody else were having a bourn fire but I was talking with Angelo and Sir Alvin about Jay. They were telling me about the warnings. My jaw clenched and fists curled up. How did Ram dare to threaten my queen
Later I joined the rest at the bourn fire. Jayjay offered me a bite of her smore. I felt like I have achieved something great. To be offered to share food with a woman that valued and loved it more than life itself was a great accomplishment. I cracked a triumphant smile before taking a small bite
"How is it??", she asked
"Great"
"You like smores?"
"No"
"Then what is so great??"
"To be fed by you", she lightly slapped my arm as if alarming me about the people sitting with us
Soon, they also started commenting one by one
