Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Unexpected Gains

The products traded in the market vary in quality; many treasures are sold at high prices, but there are also many treasures mixed in with inconspicuous miscellaneous items, which might be bought at very cheap prices.

This shop is very rundown, covered with a lot of dust, and even the counter is somewhat worn.

The shop owner is an old man wearing glasses,"I don't like greeting customers, feel free to help yourselves."

Among the clutter, there are two very red fruits, looking like apples, which caught Ryan's eye.

"What is this?"

The old man said, "I don't know, these are leftovers from others. If you want, payonesilver coin, and you can take these two fruits."

Paul was a bit disdainful, "These must be apples, right? So expensive."

Ryan's intuition told him that these two fruits must be very valuable. He handed a silver coin to the old man, "Deal."

Just as he held the fruit in his hand, Mr. Green's voice came from afar, "Are you hungry? If you're hungry, go to the kitchen and find something to eat. Why spend a silver coin here to buy two apples? Poor kids really have no sense, country bumpkins from the countryside."

Ryan said, "We meet again so soon, are you following me?" Veins bulged on his arm as he silently repeated in his mind, pain.

He quietly launched a mental attack on Green, and sure enough, Green painfully covered his head.

Paul pointed to the guard beside him and said, "No, fighting in the market will get you expelled."

At this moment,a very familiar voice came,"This is not an apple."

Mr. Miller arrived.

Ryan quickly withdrew his psychic attack.

"This is a Dragon Blood Fruit, I've seen it before."

Ryan hadn't heard of the name, but Paul had, " Oh, so this is a Dragon Blood Fruit. I've heard that Dragon Blood Fruits are guarded by fire lizards and only bear fruit once every 30 years. Could these two fruits be 60 years old? Wow, you're really lucky. We actually bought such amazing treasures in this unremarkable shop."

Ryan was very surprised; these two Dragon Blood Fruits sounded much more valuable than wolf pelts.

Mr. Miller warned them, "You are indeed very lucky, but you must not eat this Dragon Blood Fruit casually. Eating it will have very serious consequences. Don't eat it by mistake. When you become an adult, eating that Dragon Blood Fruit might enhance your abilities."

Ryan and Paul thanked Mr. Miller and then left the market.

Grinn watched Ryan's back, his jealousy reaching its peak at this moment. He was exhausted, "Why is it that a poor guy like you can be so lucky, receiving so much attention from the deans, while I can't?"

Ryan secretly hid one Dragon Blood Fruit on himself and placed the other in the dormitory.

They went to the squad again.

Kill a Steel Badger Beast, reward 10 gold coins.

The burly man standing behind the counter said, "The Steel Badger Beast is an extremely fast wild animal, with dense steel spikes on its back, vengeful and cunning, once it latches onto you, it basically won't let go until one of you dies."

This task is somewhat difficult, but it offers the highest reward among all beginner tasks.

"Let's take on this task, that way, we can save up half of the tuition."

Forest.

They arrived at the Steel Badger Beast's territory.

Here, a badger was sound asleep, because badgers are beasts that like to be active at night.

The badger's back is covered with spines like steel needles, and its four legs are very short, but it runs very fast.

Paul looked at the spines on the badger's back with some fear, accidentally stepped on a dry branch, and ended up waking the sleeping badger.

The badger shook its head, let out a loud roar, and charged at them.

Paul almost cried, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

Ryan said, "Thanks, shut up."

Paul shifted directly, a bull charging at Badger at incredible speed.

At the same time, Ryan launched a psychic attack, silently chanting pain in his mind.

Badger was indeed affected by his interference, and Paul seized the opportunity to knock Badger to the ground.

But the badger's legs are too short, its center of gravity is low,so a single hit is unlikely to cause substantial damage.

Paul still wanted to stomp on the badger, but Ryan noticed the badger acting strangely and shouted, "Stay away from it, quick!"

Paul anticipated something bad was about to happen; his body reacted faster than his brain, and he quickly rolled on the ground.

The badger launched a deadly strike, dozens of steel spikes shooting out and embedding themselves in the empty ground in front of Paul

A blood streak was cut across the cow's face, and Paul felt fear in his heart.

If it weren't for Ryan's reminder, he might have already been dead. "Damn, this mission is really tough. The steel badger beast can actually attack proactively."

They immediately turned around and started running, Paul was running and shouting, "Why is the badger's endurance so strong? It has been chasing us for several miles and still doesn't seem tired at all."

Ryan was panting heavily as he ran, constantly placing various obstacles on the road.

Gradually, they ran to a place where there were fallen trees everywhere, as if a fierce battle had taken place here, with two large trees standing very close together, leaving only a narrow space that one person could pass through.

Let's make a bet.

What bet?

"The badger isn't very smart." Ryan's expression was vicious.

Ryan took the initiative to attack the badger, stabbing its mouth fiercely with a short knife and skillfully dodging the badger's counterattack.

He lured the badger to attack him, then quickly rushed through the gap between the two large trees.

The badger was truly deceived and got stuck while rushing through the gap between the trees.

Paul watched the badger struggle continuously and stabbed its eyes with a short knife. The badger at this moment became ferocious, its strength increased fivefold, shattering the tree and trying to bite his arm in one bite.

Ryan is still in human form now, and if bitten by this badger, his arm would definitely break.
