Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Kill the Wolf

Paul and Ryan went to the forest dimension.

The center of the entire country is Jin long City, surrounded by seven planes: the Forest Plane, the Ice Plane, the Fire Plane, the Swamp Plane, the Magma Plane, the Desert Plane, and the Water Plane.

Among them, the Forest Plane is somewhat less dangerous. Their current strength is not very strong, and going to other planes could very likely result in death.

The Gale Wolves generally live in packs, but the mission only requires the pelt of one wolf, so catching a lone wolf shouldn't be that difficult.

Moreover, he has liked observing various fierce beasts since childhood, so he is quite familiar with the habits of these wolves.

He found some animal remains left by predators in the forest and carefully picked up one piece, attracting a lone Swift wind Wolf to come and hunt.

This kind ofSwiftwind Wolfis not very large, but you must be careful; its head and tail are very hard, and it is extremely fast,so you cannot let it hit you,or you could suffer broken ribs at best, and possibly a broken spine at worst.

The Swift wind Wolf is eyeing the piece of meat in Ryan's hand, ready to pounce at any moment.

Ryan instructed Paul, "You go set up a trap,do it exactly as I say."

Ryan forcefully threw the piece of meat in the opposite direction, and the wolf jumped up and grabbed the meat. His speed was very fast, and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of the wolf, swinging his fists to strike it.

The wolf raised its head, trying to bite Ryan's hand, but his previous attack was just to distract the wolf. He then threw a handful of chili powder into the wolf's face, which he had taken from the kitchen.

The wolf's sense of smell was very sensitive. This chili powder could temporarily impair its sense of smell and also hurt its eyes.

The wolf closed its eyes, howling in pain.

He quickly drew the short knife from his waist and stabbed it into the wolf's side. The softest part of the wolf was its waist; as long as he targeted this weak spot, he could kill the wolf.

Unexpectedly, the wolf's vitality was so strong that after being stabbed, it instead triggered its ferocity.

The wolf, smelling Ryan's scent, rushed forward to bite him. He hurriedly ran forward, and when he passed through a clearing, his eyes became fierce.

Originally flat, the clearing suddenly had a rope stretched across the middle. The wolf was very fast but failed to react in time and was tripped by the rope, falling to the ground.

Ryan seized the opportunity to rush forward, stabbing the wraith wolf's waist with his dagger repeatedly, cutting through its waist bone. Only after confirming the wolf was dead did he calmly skin it.

The wolf pelt was indeed very warm, feeling quite thick and solid, definitely worth two gold coins.

Before the battle started, he had told Paul to help set up a trap, asking him to find a rope to tie to a tree, and Ryan would lure the wolf to run past the tree, while Paul pulled the rope tight from the other end, causing the wolf to fall.

Paul looked at the wolf pelt with great envy, "You really are so clever. I used to think it was impossible to catch such a fierce beast without shifted, but you actually succeeded. In just a few days of knowing you, you've brought me so many surprises."

He said, "shifted really consumes a lot of energy, and the forest is full of dangers everywhere. Maybe some ferocious beasts will rush over if they smell blood. If we attract a pack of wolves, we will be in great danger."

They returned to the school, and just as they entered the school gate, they were stopped by Green while preparing to go to the squad.

Green arrogantly said, "Hand over the wolf's pelt to me."

Paul was very angry, "Why should we give it to you? This is our trophy."

Glen said, "Don't you know? The first task for freshmen in the first year, the loot they get must be collected,of course, we will generously pay3copper coins."

How can 3 copper coins be equivalent to the value of a wolf pelt worth 2 gold coins?

Ryan looked very bad, "What if we don't give it?"

Glen said, "There is a rule in the academy, you must not offend senior students,if you dare to disobey me, I will kick you out of this academy."

He showed his left arm and whispered a threat, "I'm a three-star orc, killing you is easy."

No wonder Green is so arrogant; indeed, no one in the academy dares to mess with a three-star, and he is also the son of the city lord.

Ryan suppressed the anger in his heart and reluctantly handed over the wolf's fur to the senior, as the coin clinked to the ground, the onlookers' laughter drowned out his clenched fists.

Paul hated it, "What a bandit."

Ryan took something else out of his storage pouch, "We killed the wolf, besides the fur, the wolf's head, tail, and paws can all be sold. Let's go to the market and sell these items to get some money."

Yes, Green only took the wolf's pelt, but that doesn't mean they lost everything they had.

They took these items to the market and found a shop that specialized in buying and selling beast carcasses. The shop owner looked at what they were holding, then glanced at their names and told them, "Are you Mr. Smith? Everything you sell here will have a 30% discount."

The shop owner said slowly, "You've offended Mr. Green, he's the son of the city lord. Everyone listens to him, my shop is small, please don't put me in a difficult position."

Time and time again being oppressed, Ryan had really had enough.

What's so special about the city lord's son? Just for refusing to be his friend, he gets retaliated against like this?

Ryan said, "You steal my property once, humiliate me twice, and the interest will cost you an arm. Isn't that fair?"

Paul heard his words and got a little scared, quickly saying to the shop owner, "Deal."

He pulled Ryan to another shop, "Don't be impulsive, Green is three stars, you can't beat him. Let's go check out other shops. We have three silver coins now, let's just spend them and see if we can buy any treasures."
