Grandmother Stone POV
The old crystal fell from my trembling hands and shattered on the cave floor.
"No," I whispered, looking at the broken pieces. "Not Emma. Anyone but Emma."
Behind me, Uncle Richard's dark magic was still tearing Lily and Ethan apart. Their screams echoed through the cave, but I couldn't move to help them. The vision I'd just seen had frozen me in place with fear.
Emma. Sweet, innocent four-year-old Emma. In my vision, she had been sixteen, standing in this very cave, her eyes sparkling with power that no child should possess. And she had been alone, so terribly alone, facing something that would destroy everything we loved.
"Grandmother Stone!" Ethan's words broke through my shock. "Help us!"
I forced myself to focus on the present. Richard was using illegal magic, the kind that had been banned from our pack for over a century. The crystal in his hands glowed with darkness, feeding off the pain he was causing.
