Hun's POV
Me: "I don't know, mom, I'm telling you the truth."
It's been 12 weeks, and that makes it 3 months since Royalty left. Since then, I've been trying to look for her, but nothing. It's like she disappeared from the face of the earth. Even if her number doesn't get through now, it takes me straight to voicemail.
I even had to tell mom now after three months because I couldn't find her on my own. I even had to go to an extent of telling her everything that happened even the day I slept with her, yes we didn't actually had sex but I'm not going to say it the way I'm supposed to. I still feel guilty even today.
Mom: "How did I even give birth to fool like you?.
Me: "Mom, you really didn't..."
Mom: "Yes, I mean it, and you better look hard for my daughter-in-law or else you and me are nothing."
Me: "Mom, don't say something you will regret later."
Mom: "I'll regret nothing Hun Whale. You really disappointed me. I thought I gave birth and raised a real man, but no, you are a coward. Ypu guys got married after she just helped ypu you, but you treated her like she was the one who called you to come to her home. Please don't make me remind you what she has done for you and what you paid her back with. I'm leaving. You better get back to looking for her or else...ypu will know me. "
I just looked at her and said nothing as she took her handbag and exited my house. I took my phone and dialled Tsepo's number. Hee better give me something before I lose it.
Me: "Tsepo ypu better tell me something useful."
I said as soon as he answered the call.
Tsepo: "Unfortunately, I have nothing. I've tried tracking her phone directly, and guess what?".
Me: "What!".
Tsepo: "she sold it right here in Francistown to some boy who fix phones in the streets."
Me: "So there is nothing, absolutely nothing."
Tsepo: "Unfortunately, yes."
Me: "we will talk."
I dropped the call and sat down defeated. Where should I even look because I've asked at the village like a lot of times but still got nothing.
Me: "Where are you, Royalty? Just please show me a sign of where you are. I know I wronged you, and I'm sorry, I was just scared, scared of the unknown, scared of what people will say. Please come back my wife. "
I don't know how I slept, only to wake sweating like I'm in an oven after having a terrible dream about Royalty. She was drowning in water , like in a dam. She was crying for me to save her but I couldn't even if I tried.
Me: "God, I know I have never prayed in my life but today I'm crying to you to keep my wife safe. I know I was a jack and a dumbass for treating her like that and pushing her away from me instead of bringing her closer to me but God her protection right now is all I'm asking. I'll ask you to show me where she is tomorrow amen."
I went to the sitting room, drunk some water and went upstairs to my room where I just throw myself on top of the bed and let sleep steal me. I wake up the next morning and bath, got ready for work and left. As soon as I got to the entrance of my company people or let me say the paparazzi came from nowhere bombing me with questions.
"Is it true that ypu are married?"
"No man, sir is it true that you were married?"
"And the wife left you after a few months?"
"Why did she leave you sir, please yell us?"
"Why didn't you announce about the wedding, why was is done in a secrete way?"
"Please tell us sir the world wants to know".
They were closing my way but because I can't answer them I had to push my way in fuming with anger. Who the hell let them get in here. Me: "Who in the hell let those gossipers in my Co.pany Tsepo?"
Tsepo: " I don't know, why are you yelling early in the morning? I have good news".
Me: "Tell me the good news but I want those people out right this moment!"
Tsepo: "someone is taking care of it as we are speaking. I saw someone like your village wife on Facebook".
Me: "will you stop calling her my village wife! She is my wife and her name is Royalty. Highlight that post for me let me see it now now".
Tsepo: "I've already send the link to ypu on Watsapp ".
I didn't reply him as I dropped the call and went and checked the link and he did sure send. I clicked on the link and went to the post and it's some girl who was taking selfies and she happen to capture Royalty at background. I send her a friendly request and by God's grace he accepted it a minute later before I exited Facebook and she send a hi.
Some women out there are too much, how can you run to send someone a message when he is the one who send you a friend request first. I replied her back and she is still online.
Me: "how are you? Thank you for accepting my friend request ".
"My pleasure, I got shocked when I saw it but how is business Mr jnr Whale?"
Me: "Good, actually I wanna ask something that I saw ok your post or rather someone ".
"No problem go ahead ".
Me: "well I saw someone I'm looking for on your post the one you posted like 3 days ago would you please kindly tell me where you were on that post and if you know the gurl who was wearing a pink simple dress that is just above knee".
"Ok, give me a second let me go and check the post".
Me: "ok thank you".
After a minute which I assume she was checking the post, she started typing.
"That post I had went to get my sister transferred to a private hospital since that was a public hospital and I saw the girl you are referring to but unfortunately I don't know her. She just happened to be captured in my picture"
Me: "ooh I'm so disappointed but thank you, which hospital is that and its where? Maybe ill go there and find something ".
"It's Lebona clinic in block 8"
Me: "Thank you so much maybe ill find something if I go there. May God bless you".
"My pleasure, I hope ypu find her".
I went offline and closed my eyes frmor a few minutes seconds after I logged out of Facebook. I started doing work even though I struggled with focusing but eventually I did because I need money after all.
Me: "please ypu cab go I'm not done ill follow you"
Tsepo: "You didn't tell me what happened on that picture because dude trust me it's her".
It's knock off time but I don't feel like going home. It's so cold there and with my mom mad at me like this. Its even worse.
Me: "well she said she doesknow her but she kind of gave me the location where she was".
Tsepo: "so then why do you look down? I mean this is something. There is still hope"
Me: "where will I start and who will I ask?"
Tsepo: "I thought you are smart but no you are not. You go to that clinic, ask around or even the people who work there and see if you can not find something".

Me: "Tsepo ypu will ask that lady and I'll ask that nurse".
Tsepo: "what? Nooo, I'll go and ask the nurse you will go to that scary lady".
He said already going to the nurse and I had to go the lady , I mean she is not scary like Tsepo said. "Oh hello son, how are ypu?".
Me: "ok mma thank you, sorry I want to ask mama, have you ever seen this gurl around here?"
I said showing her a picture of Royalty and she looked closely trying to recognise her.
"Oooh this is Royalty, she comes here from time to time selling cooked food".
Me: "ooh really mma, I'm looking for her, when last did she came, is she coming today?.
"Well, she last came yesterday and today she is not coming ".
Me: "oooh mma, where does she stay, I mean do you know where she lives and her adress?"
"Unfortunately no, but ypu can go inside and ask the nurses or doctors maybe you will get some information. There is this other day she got sick and she had to be checked here".
Me: "Thank you, thank ypu so much mma".
I run towards Tsepo who was coming to me already.
Me: "found something?"
Tsepo: "nop you?"
Me: "Let's go inside and ask for a doctor , I have a feeling we will find something".
We went inside and asked for a doctor and since people knows me it was so easy to go to his office and luckily he was not busy so we entered and sat down.
Dr: "Mr jnr Whale, what a pleasant surprise".
Me: "hello doctor I'm looking for this girl please tell me ypu know her ".
I said showing him a picture.
Me: "someone told me she was here some other time so I'm sure ypu treated her".
Dr: "Unfortunately no, I just checked in yesterday and the doctors who were on shift are on leave and they went abroad"
Me: "Wow, ok, how about ypu check the name Royalty Nkhwa in your system".
He clicked on his computer for a few minutes and looked at me.
Me: "what?
Dr: "there is nothing about her in this clinic ".
Me: "Oh God, when are those doctors coming bavk and why would they go together?"
Dr: "maybe in a week's time, they are husband and wife".
Me: "Thank you very much for nothing, let's go Tsepo".
We got to my car and got in and I drove going back hoke.
Tsepo:"So what now?".
Me: "What now? What nothing, I'm tired, it seems like she doesn't want to be found or God himself doesn't want me to find her, so why should I continue to search for a ghost. We have nothing that's leading us to her. Everything is just a dead end. "
Tsepo: "no its kot."
Me: "Yes, it is. Why do you think we didn't find anything here? Let's just let this go. What's good is that she is not dead and she is perfectly fine. "
Tsepo: "You are gonna regret this one day."
Me: "Never."
Tsepo: "Don't say I didn't tell you."
Royalty's POV
Sometimes, I feel like giving up, but then I remember that I can't just quit just like that. What kind of a person will I be if I give up so soon.
