Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: Subduing Dr. Gero

Dr. Brief only had a vague idea about Dr. Gero's laboratory.

Years ago, before Dr. Gero disappeared from public view, a science magazine had once featured an interview with him, mentioning that his lab was located somewhere in the mountainous area near the northern city.

Although it was possible Dr. Gero had moved since then, Lynx's memory confirmed the lab was still hidden in a secret mountain range. Without hesitation, he took Hannah and flew north.

The cold, snowy Northern Mountains were covered in a thick white blanket. From afar, the mountains looked like a pure white sea.

Finding a well-hidden secret lab in this vast wilderness was no easy task.

As Lynx and Hannah began their search for Dr. Gero's whereabouts, the sky suddenly darkened.

"Hm? Your Majesty, why has the sky gone dark?" Hannah asked in surprise.

"Someone is summoning the Dragon Balls," Lynx replied, looking upward.

At this time, it was probably King Piccolo trying to restore his youth.

Despite Goku's recent power increase, he was still no match for King Piccolo.

But that was for the better — the more life-or-death battles Goku experienced, the more he would grow stronger.

Thinking this, Lynx activated his scouter and switched to life detection mode.

If he wanted to observe Goku's final battle with King Piccolo, he needed to hurry.

Dr. Brief's improved version of the Frieza Force's scouter retained many original functions, including the ability to detect life signals — even from creatures as small as insects.

This was perfect for tracking Dr. Gero in the desolate northern mountains, where few living things emitted detectable life signals. Searching methodically was far easier than wandering blindly.

After more than an hour of searching, Lynx finally discovered the secret entrance to Dr. Gero's lab.

He called Hannah over, and the two approached the heavy steel door guarding the entrance.

The door was about half a meter thick, blocking their way.

"Your Majesty, let me handle this," Hannah said.

"Only blast open the door," Lynx replied.

"All right."

Hannah stepped forward and gently rubbed her fingers together. A bright ki wave shot out, blasting a hole in the door and revealing the corridor inside.

Dr. Gero's research wasn't just hidden deep in the mountains — the internal defenses were extraordinarily strict.

No sooner had they entered than a large group of sentinel robots charged out, firing mercilessly at Lynx and Hannah.

"Pathetic!"

Hannah sneered, waving her hand and unleashing a powerful shockwave that obliterated all the robots.

Deep inside the lab, Dr. Gero was drenched in cold sweat, utterly desperate.

"Damn it… How can someone this strong exist?"

"If only I hadn't sent the androids out so soon… Damn it! If only I had more time…"

"What would you do with more time?"

Suddenly, a woman's voice rang out from behind Dr. Gero.

Startled, he spun around to see Lynx and Hannah standing before him.

"Uh… if I had more time, my androids would definitely defeat you two monsters!"

"Hah? With those rusty scraps?" Hannah scoffed.

But Lynx knew Gero wasn't bluffing.

The androids he would create in the future were monsters capable of challenging even gods.

Such a genius was definitely worth recruiting.

Pushing Hannah aside, Lynx stepped forward.

"Dr. Gero, you must realize you have nowhere left to run. I'll give you two choices."

"First, swear loyalty to me. You can continue your android research, but from now on, your allegiance will not be to the defunct Red Ribbon Army — it will be to me, Lynx, and the Saiyan Kingdom I control."

"Saiyan? You're not from Earth?" Gero's eyes widened.

"That's right. We're aliens from Planet Vegeta. Including the one you want to eliminate—Son Goku, who is also a Saiyan."

"No wonder… no wonder you're so powerful…"

Gero clenched his fists. No wonder they could be so strong — they were actually aliens!

Lynx continued, "Second choice: if you refuse to submit, you and your research will be buried here in this cave."

As Lynx spoke, a terrifying ki surged from him, paralyzing Gero, his body trembling uncontrollably.

"So, what will it be? Life or death… Dr. Gero, what's your choice?" Lynx said coldly.

Gero was now so fearful he could barely speak.

Though Gero could one day create androids capable of rivaling gods, he himself was still just an ordinary human.

Seeing this, Lynx retracted his ki.

Gero gasped for breath like a drowning man suddenly getting air.

He slowly lifted his head and looked at Lynx.

"You want me to serve you? What do you want me to do?"

"Nothing. Just continue your research. We Saiyans are a warrior race who frequently go to war, but our population is small. Your androids could become valuable allies for the Saiyans."

Lynx's immediate plans for Dr. Gero were limited to this.

In the past, Saiyans used Saibamen for training and combat support. With Dr. Gero's androids, Saibamen could be phased out.

Compared to Saibamen, androids would be much more useful in both training and combat assistance.

"Dr. Gero, one last time — will you join me?" Lynx asked firmly.

"I…" Gero hesitated, then bowed his head.

"I understand, Mr. Lynx. I am willing to serve you!"

Ding! The system's voice echoed: "Congratulations, host. Dr. Gero subdued. Reward: Advanced Instant Transmission!"

The system update appeared in Lynx's stats, upgrading his Instant Transmission ability.

Lynx smiled slightly and nodded.

"All right, Dr. Gero. Clean up your lab. Your new research facility will be on Planet Vegeta. I'll assign some alien scientists as your assistants."
