Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: No Retaliation

When I entered the school grounds, the first thing I did was head straight for the Magic Training Building, without any intention of going to class. After I entered the training building, I looked for the area with the fewest people before walking over to it.

Not far from where I stood was a blue crystal. We call it a Magic Crystal.

How it works is very simple. You just cast any kind of magic you want and hit the Magic Crystal with it. In a short time, that magic will be reflected back with amplified power. I planned to use this method to charge the magic crystals for each element.

The first element I chose for now was fire.

I inserted the fire element magic crystal, which had turned white, into the core of the gauntlet. Even though I hadn't repaired the power-processing crystal, that didn't matter. What I was about to do wasn't spellcasting but absorption, so the power-processing crystal wasn't necessary.

What was truly necessary... was the power reserve I had attached to the fingertips and palm of the gauntlet. The magic reserve was the core that could channel magic out of the gauntlet, as well as bring it back for reuse. It was similar to recycling energy.

I raised my right hand, which wore the gauntlet, and used my left hand to summon a mid-tier fire spell.

Even though it was a mid-tier spell, I could only summon a Level 9 fire spell. That was because I wasn't skilled enough with fire magic to use anything higher. But this was more than enough.

Once I finished charging the magic, I immediately shot the fireball at the crystal before me.

When my fire magic touched the crystal, instead of exploding, the crystal absorbed my magical power. The blue crystal then transformed into a deep red.

I braced my gauntlet-clad hand, knowing well that the Magic Crystal was about to release its power.

Fwoosh!!!

Just a few seconds later, the crystal in front of me unleashed a fire element spell.

I used my hand to receive the incoming fireball. When the fireball made contact with the gauntlet, it dissolved into red light before flowing into and merging with the magic crystal attached to the gauntlet.

I stared at the magic crystal that was once white. It now had a faint red glow. I smiled, seeing that it worked as I had thought. Then, I used my left hand to summon another fire spell.

Alright... let's keep this going.

2 hours later

By now, I had finished charging all the magic stones. These stones had their limits as well. If I tried to force it and store too much power, they would explode. There was no way I would let that happen, so I only stored a moderate amount of power.

I put the magic gauntlet into my magic bag and immediately started to leave. More and more people were coming inside, and if I stayed any longer, trouble might start for no reason.

But on my way out, my eyes caught sight of a young woman who was training.

My eyes widened slightly when I saw that magnificent silver gleam.

A young woman with beautiful golden hair was swinging a silver sword in her hand at the crystal before her, with lightning-fast speed that was both heavy and fierce.

Anyone who laid eyes on the scene before them would surely be unable to look away.

This was the first time I had ever seen something so beautiful in my life.

I never thought... I would meet her so soon. She looks just as beautiful as she did in the game.

I watched the young woman training with admiring eyes. Her name was Mikarof Losein Reinhardt, the fourth heroine of the game.

She was a young woman who possessed both strength and a determined spirit, elegant and gentle. She was a superb character, recorded as one of the most famous heroines of all time.

She wasn't human but a member of the rare divine race, which was why she possessed immense light-element magic. Her goal was to save this world from the Demon King and bring peace to the world.

She had a noble goal, was intelligent and beautiful, gentle and loved her comrades. She could be called one of the most charming characters. Of course... she was one of my favorite characters as well.

All I can do is wish her success in what she wants to achieve.

A smile formed on my lips before I walked out of the building, heading towards the Inventor's Building to study other things. But just as I was about to leave, something happened.

Thud!!

I bumped into someone who was walking through the door, causing them to stumble backward. When I looked, I saw a young man with an unfamiliar face. But judging from his uniform, he was probably a first-year student like me.

"What the hell are you looking at?! Can't you see I'm coming through the door!!" the man in front of me shouted angrily. Seeing this, I looked at him and tried to apologize.

"Aren't you the one who wasn't looking? Why should I be the one to apologize?" Crap!!! I meant to apologize, damn it!! How the hell did it come out like that?!

"What did you say!!! Are you asking for a fight?!" The man in front of me stepped forward and grabbed my collar, his face contorted in rage.

BAM!!!!

My eyes flew open... as my own arm suddenly struck the man in front of me with great force, sending him flying several meters away to land unconscious on the grass outside.

Oh, shit!!!!!!

I looked at my own hand, which was coated in a dense layer of wind magic... Just now, my body reacted on its own. It might be because this "Alan" was taught from a young age that if he was threatened, he should attack immediately. And I couldn't control it. This is bad, this is really bad. I put my full power into that punch. Is he dead?

I tried to walk towards the man's body to check on him, but at that moment, two other students ran to him first.

"Brian!!! Brian, are you okay, man?!"

"You... Why did you hurt our friend?!"

Two unfamiliar students, who seemed to be friends with the one I punched, rushed to check on him, then turned to me with furious faces. Their shouts caused the surrounding students to start gathering around to watch.

"Did you hear that... that person attacked that guy with magic."

"Not just that, I saw him start charging up magic first, and it was really powerful. I wonder if that guy will be okay."

"I... I recognize him. He's from the Seyfirus family. And I heard he's been causing trouble since he enrolled. I can't believe he'd dare to do something like this even inside the school."

"Shameless."

"Disgusting."

"Coward."

I looked around with a bad feeling. This is bad... If this keeps up, it's going to be terrible. More people are gathering now. If this continues, it won't just end with a death flag... I might even get expelled from school. Even though the original Alan behaved badly, he never did anything this audacious at school. Damn it... I did this to myself, didn't I?

I tried to turn my back and walk away from the crowd without saying anything, because if I opened my mouth again, I'd definitely be in more trouble. But just then.

"Trying to run away?! Don't think you can get away with what you did to our friend!!!"

"Take this, you coward!!!"

The two friends of the unconscious guy shouted in anger before immediately casting water and earth magic at me.

Seeing that, an irritated expression crossed my face.

Those idiots!!! Casting magic into the middle of a crowd?

I spun back around quickly and raised my hand.

No... if I put up a wind shield, the students around me will get caught in the crossfire.

I gritted my teeth.

Damn it!!!

I lowered my hand and instead used my arms to protect my vital spots.

THWACK!!!!

"Ugh!!!!"

The earth and water magic slammed into my body, sending me flying backward into a metal school pillar with great force.

Some of the students who saw this screamed loudly. A few students ran to get a teacher to stop the incident. But there was another group of students who stared at me with looks of satisfaction.

I gritted my teeth... The pain from the spells that hit me wasn't severe, but it was enough to make it hard to get up.

I tried to push myself to my feet. It seemed my arm was slightly wounded, too. Ah... this is worse than I thought.

I looked at the scene before me. It seemed the two students were also shocked that they had actually hit me with magic. But when they saw me starting to get up, they composed themselves and looked at me with faces full of fear.

My body, having managed to stand up, glanced at them briefly.

There's nothing to be gained by retaliating. Causing more trouble would only be a problem for me. The teachers are on their way... I think it's best for me to leave now.

Because for me, getting expelled is a punishment far worse than any bad ending.

With that thought, I turned my head and walked away, clutching my bleeding arm.

The two students who saw my retreating form began to lose their fear, and a triumphant smile spread across their faces.

"Ha.. Haha! Run away, you coward!! You deserved that!!"

"That's right, you idiot!!! Seyfirus trash like you deserves to be treated like this!!"

The two who had unleashed their magic on me seemed to gain confidence, shouting taunts at me with relish.

I heard their words but paid them no mind, dragging my body away from the area, under the watchful eyes of more than a hundred students.
