Synopsis
Otis lived a full life — quiet, kind, and unremarkable. When he dies peacefully, he’s reincarnated into the world of Naruto, expecting adventure, chakra, and destiny. Instead, the system grants him one “Legendary Skill”: Throwing – Level 1. Not Rasengan. Not Sharingan. Just... throwing. Now a massive, awkward five-year-old with the strength of a stone giant and a gift no one respects, Otis must grow up in Konoha during Naruto’s generation — with only his wits, a handful of rocks, and the will to turn a joke of a skill into something truly terrifying. Slow-paced, heartfelt, and funny, Thrown Into the Leaf is a story about finding strength in odd places, making friends in unexpected ways, and building something legendary from the most humble of beginnings. Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: You Have Been Reincarnated… Kind Of

The girl sat quietly, holding his hand. She didn't speak again, and neither did he. The silence was soft now — not heavy

After a few minutes, he looked at the ceiling again. His smile faded, but not from sadness. It was something else. Thought. Memory of his grandmother her smile

"There's something I need to tell you," he said, voice even softer than before looking at his granddaughter

She looked up, waiting.

"I left a letter… in the drawer. Your father will find it."

"A letter?"

He nodded. "I wrote it last month. I told the hospital… they can take my body when I go."

She didn't understand at first. "Take it? Why?"

He looked at her gently. "For people in need for those who still have life left"

Her eyebrows pulled together, confused.

She stared at him. "You gave your body… for others?"

He nodded slowly. "What else would I do with it? I used it enough. Now let it be useful even after I'm gone."

She was quiet.

"You remember what I told you once?" he asked.

She shook her head.

He smiled. "When you don't know what to do, choose kindness."

Her lips trembled a little. "But I'll miss you…"

He squeezed her hand with the little strength he had left.

"I'll miss you too, my little bird. But I'll be around. In the wind. Remember what i told you"

"That people don't die until you forget them"

She leaned in and hugged him, resting her cheek on his chest.

He closed his eyes, the smile still on his face.

Darkness.

Not heavy. Not painful. Just still.

Otis didn't remember the moment he stopped breathing. It wasn't dramatic. No gasping. No struggle. Just quiet — like a candle flickering out in an empty room.

But now…

There was something else.

Wind.

Soft, dry wind brushed across his skin.

Not a hospital room.

Not the smell of sterile air.

This was… different.

Otis opened his eyes.

The sky above him was bright. Too bright. Clouds raced, pulled by wind through which grass is moving, and you can smell the grass.

He blinked, slowly.

His body felt… lighter. Younger. He raised his hands.

No wrinkles.

No tremble.

Strong again.

"What…?" he murmured, the sound of his own voice startling him. It was soft. High. A little squeaky.

Not his voice.

Not the voice of a man who had lived sixty-something years, taught three generations of schoolchildren, and once dislocated his back sneezing too hard

He sat up, chest rising and falling as if he'd run a long way without moving at all.

Otis froze mid-step.

A chicken stood a few feet away, perfectly still.

Staring at him.

With its deadass eyes.

Not blinking. Not clucking. Just... watching. Like it knew something.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked.

The chicken did not respond.

Only tilted its head slightly.

Judging him.

Then—

Footsteps.

A boy dashed past him, barefoot, waving a stick like a sword. His voice rang out through the field:

"I'm gonna be the greatest ninja ever! Believe it!!"

Otis froze.

That voice.

The blonde hair. The ridiculous catchphrase.

No way.

He turned slowly.

In the distance, the boy kept running, laughing to himself. A blue forehead protector bounced against his brow, tied too loosely.

Otis blinked hard.

And then—

It hit him.

The headband.

The spiky hair.

The words.

"Believe it."

His breath caught in his throat.

"No. No no no—" he whispered. "That wasn't just some kid. That was…"

He stood up too fast and stepped on a stone.

"Gah—!"

Pain. Real. Like legos.

He stumbled back and caught himself, turning just in time to see a building nearby.

A wooden sign.

Strange lettering.

And yet…

He understood it.

Konoha Orphanage.

He clutched his head as a migraine bloomed behind his eyes.

Flash.

A swirl-shaped symbol in red and white.

A masked man with a Sharingan.

A village in flames.

A fox.

A boy alone on a swing.

A cold-eyed genius named Sasuke.

A ramen shop.

A will of fire.

The memories weren't from this life.

They were from his old one.

His real life.

Otis staggered back and fell to his knees.

"No. No. This isn't real," he muttered.

But it was.

It was real.

"This is… Naruto's world…"

Then — ding!

A gentle chime echoed softly in his ears.

A glowing blue screen appeared in front of his eyes.

[Welcome, Otis.]

[Your reincarnation has been successful.]

[Location: Hidden Leaf Village (Konoha)]

[Age: 5 | Status: Orphan]

Otis stared at it.

Eyes wide.

"No. You better not," he whispered.

[Legendary Skill Unlocked: "Throwing – Level 1"]

[Skill Description: You can throw things. Like, really well.]

[Accuracy: Divine Tier™]

[Passive Bonus: 200% throwing power. Yes, even for socks.]

He just… blinked.

Stared at the words.

Then another line appeared, this one flashing:

[P.S. We were supposed to give you "Time Rewind" but… someone hit the wrong button. 😅]

Silence.

The wind moved gently through the grass.

Otis looked down at his small hands. Then at the stone he'd stepped on.

He picked it up.

Weighing it.

Felt the roughness against his fingers.

Looked at a tree across the road — not far, maybe ten steps. Nothing fancy. Just a sturdy trunk, daring him to try.

Otis narrowed his eyes.

"Alright. Let's see what you gave me, system."

He pulled his arm back.

Focused.

Threw.

The rock slipped out too early.

It went straight up.

bonk

And landed directly on his own head.

"Gah!"

He stumbled, grabbed his forehead.

He sat down slowly.

Rubbed his head.

"Okay," he muttered, "so maybe I'm not the chosen one just yet."

The chicken clucked nearby, unimpressed, it's eyes narrowing a little

Otis sighed.

He picked up another rock.

"…Best two out of three?"
