Percival Covington stood behind his desk, watching Damian Gallagher leave his office. The door clicked shut, and he allowed himself a small smirk. The attempted power play was almost amusing.
He picked up his phone. "Roman, have the legal team review the contract amendments I just sent. Make sure there are no loopholes."
"Right away, sir," Roman replied. "And regarding Mr. Gallagher's... request?"
"Let him stew for a few hours. Then arrange another meeting for this afternoon."
Percival hung up and stared out at the cityscape below. Damian's ultimatum was a tactical error. The Gallagher Industries partnership was valuable, but not irreplaceable. And Percival Covington had never responded well to threats.
His office door opened after a brief knock. Roman entered with a tablet in hand.
"Legal says the amendments are solid, sir. They've also completed the background checks you requested on Alice Gallagher."
