Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

A Legacy of Love and a New Beginning

Javis was a knight and a hero nicknamed "Sword Saint," while Irisphilia was a sage who mastered almost all the strongest magic on the entire continent. Their journey led them to face the demon king who had caused the two kingdoms to be at war. They managed to defeat him and returned to the Norville Kingdom.

However, upon arriving at the Norville Kingdom, Javis was captured by Irisphilia's father for being from the Easterius Empire, even though they were no longer at war. The reason was that Irisphilia was to be betrothed to the son of a nobleman who had been instrumental in defeating the demon king. Of course, Irisphilia rebelled, stating that it was Javis who had defeated the demon king.

Irisphilia didn't dare defy her father's will, so she eventually agreed to marry the nobleman's son. Javis was imprisoned in the dungeon and tortured until he no longer wished to live. However, Irisphilia's younger brother, seeing his sister tormented by their parents, freed Javis and secretly cared for him, hoping Javis would take his sister away from the kingdom.

Javis, finding his will to live again, immediately agreed. On Irisphilia's wedding day, Javis bravely arrived riding a dragon and destroyed the cathedral. He immediately kidnapped Irisphilia and carried her away. With tears streaming down her face, Irisphilia hugged Javis throughout their escape on the dragon. After that, they arrived at an island in the middle of the ocean, full of forests and monsters.

They eradicated the monsters there and built a house to live in. They lived comfortably as they both farmed undisturbed. They lived happily until death took them. Elsa, reading the story, rested her head on Adrian's shoulder, her eyes glistening.

"It's like a novel, isn't it?" Adrian said, stroking Elsa's head.

"Yes, that's right, like a novel," Elsa replied.

After both of them passed away, they reincarnated on Earth. From a young age, they remembered their past lives and could still use magic. Both aspired to return to their past lives, and thanks to Irisphilia's magic, whose name changed to Irene, they created a portal to travel back and forth from their first world to their second world until they finally decided to live their lives in their second world.

"Going back and forth, that means we can go there and come back, right?" Adrian said.

"Um... yes, actually. Want to try?" Elsa asked.

Adrian and Elsa looked at each other, then they continued reading the continuation of the story, which was about Jimmy and Irene's lives in their second world. In their story, it was said that they planted various types of fruits and vegetables in their yard, which was in their first world. Because the results were good, they sometimes sold their produce in their second world to earn income.

"Seriously?" Adrian asked.

"If you look at it, Uncle and Auntie are rich, having two apartments like these," Elsa said.

They also said that as they grew older, their powers gradually disappeared. Finally, Jimmy, who had a crafter skill, made a pair of sophisticated watches in accordance with their second world's technology, capable of holding Irene's magic so they could still travel back and forth to their first world.

"Wait a minute, so all this is magic? No wonder this watch seems so advanced, even exceeding current technology," Adrian said.

"Hehehe... it's really like an isekai story," Elsa murmured.

The watches could not be used by anyone else besides them. After studying the security systems in the second world, which usually used fingerprints, retina scans, or facial recognition, they chose an organ marked by magic to create a security system so that the watch would not fall into the wrong hands. And even if it did, the watch would only function as a regular watch. That organ was the heart.

After reading that last line, Adrian and Elsa turned to look at each other. Reflexively, both touched their chests and looked at them. They looked at each other again and immediately hugged cheerfully.

"Thank you, Uncle and Auntie," they both said, realizing how lucky they were to receive those heart donations.

After releasing their embrace, they pondered for a moment. Elsa looked at her legs and tried to move them.

"So, my legs are magic?" Elsa asked.

"It seems so," Adrian replied.

"I live in a strange world, hehehehe," Elsa said, wiggling her legs.

"What do you think? Want to try? It feels safe," Adrian said.

"Um... okay, let's try. Even if we have to stay there, as long as you're there, it's fine," Elsa replied.

"Okay, let's change first. We don't know what it's like there," Adrian said, standing up.

"Sure, I'll turn the wall for a bit," Elsa said.

Adrian went into his room, while Elsa turned her wall to go back to her room. Not long after, Adrian came out, dressed in long jeans and a black t-shirt. Elsa turned her wall; she was wearing long pants because she was using her legs and a white t-shirt. Adrian sat back down on the side of the bed. They pressed the button at the top simultaneously, and the portal reopened.

"Ready?" Adrian asked.

"Ready," Elsa replied.

"Hup," Adrian carried Elsa princess-style, and she immediately wrapped her arms around his neck. Adrian took a breath and exhaled, then stepped into the portal. "Thud," they both emerged on the other side of the portal. The scent of wooden furniture immediately filled the air. Adrian saw a wooden dining table, two chairs made from tree trunks, walls constructed from wooden logs, a window in the middle of the wall, and on the right side, a fireplace made of bricks. On the far right, there were two modern sofa chairs and a table.

Adrian turned back; the portal remained open without any signs of closing. Then he turned to look at Elsa, who had her eyes closed and her head buried in his chest.

"Elsa, open your eyes, we're here," Adrian said.

"Oh... we're safe?" Elsa asked.

"Yes, safe," Adrian said.

"Oh, okay, put me down," Elsa said.

Adrian lowered Elsa, who immediately stepped onto the ground, but suddenly Elsa felt startled and jumped back into Adrian's arms because her feet felt cold. Once Adrian was carrying her again,

"Try putting me down again," Elsa said.

After being put down, Elsa tried to step on the wooden floor and rubbed her feet. "Ow," she cried out in pain.

"Hey, don't rub them, you'll get blisters (realizing something) eh... why blisters?" Adrian asked.

"Adri... these are my legs... they're real legs, I really have legs, these are human's legs, Adri," Elsa said, holding her legs.

"Eh, yeah, they're really legs. How is that possible?" Adrian asked.

"Magic again... it must be... but I'm so grateful. I never thought I'd be able to feel the ground and the touch of the floor. I'm happy... really, really happy," Elsa said, tears streaming down her face.

Elsa immediately jumped and hugged Adrian, who also hugged Elsa back while spinning. After that, they walked to the dining table, and on it was a stack of documents written in Indonesian. Upon reading the top part,

"Hey, this is a letter from Uncle Jimmy," Adrian said.

"Yes, try reading it," Elsa replied.

They both began to read the letter placed on top while sitting on the dining chairs. The contents of the letter on the first page read:

"Welcome, whoever you are reading this letter. If you can read this letter, it means my heart and my wife's heart have met, and you can come here. My wife passed away two months ago, and her heart has been donated to someone. I, who remain in this world and represent my wife, declare that we bequeath everything to the recipients of our heart donations, even though we do not know you. We have no heirs; in whatever world we are, we are always together. My wife and I longed to have children, so for you who inherit our hearts, whether you are old, young, or children, you are our children, and of course, we love you. Thank you for bringing us back together. We hope you are happy and always together. If you do not wish to return to that world, simply destroy the watches, and you will not return forever. With love from us to you, Jimmy and Irene."

"Crush," Adrian crumpled the letter, his hands trembling, and Elsa hugged Adrian next to him. Both cried profusely after reading Jimmy's last will. They, both left by their original families and alone in the world, felt touched upon reading the letter.

"Thank you, Papa... Mama," they both said together.
