Chapter 15
#### Eason's POV
"Ok, ok, ok, I accept my loss—but not before your back touches the ground," I said as I immediately pulled her over my shoulder and slammed her into the ground. "There. You win."
"You're a demon! You're not a gentleman!" she said, sitting up and massaging her shoulder.
"I don't think I care about that," I replied with a slightly playful expression. "Now, do you want some cookies, or do you want to go home?"
"I'll take the cookies," she said as Denim *coincidentally* walked in at the same time.
"Here you go, young lady," he said, placing a tray of cookies on the table and handing her a towel.
"Umm, I don't know if this will sound rude, but who is he?" Leah asked.
"It does sound rude, but it's okay. He's my dad, my mentor, and also my first aid kit (healer)," I replied.
"Wow, he's a healer?" she said, her face lighting up with surprise. "Now I know why you always come to work strong and never seem to get tired."
"Well, now you know," I said with a proud expression. "But I don't get healed every day because that would stunt my progress."
"Eason, where's your sword?" Denim asked with a slightly confused expression. "Don't tell me you didn't use it, you fucking idiot."
"Wait—he's a swordsman, not just a hand-to-hand combat expert?" Leah said, a hint of fear in her voice. "You're a monster."
"And you're a frog in a well. Get your ass over here before I finish the cookies," I replied with an annoyed expression.
---
After eating the cookies, I took her on a tour of the sanctuary, which she absolutely loved (*or so I thought*).
As we walked to her house afterward, she said, "The tournament starts in two days, and people are streaming into the nameless city like a bunch of locusts."
"It's actually none of my business. I just want to win—that's all."
"Come over tomorrow. We'll fight again," I said as I walked her to her door.
