Chapter 33 – Madeleine's POV
I shouldn't have come back here but i couldn't resist more ...
I told them I'd stay away . Disappear. Vanish from this city this world like a ghost a forgotten human and never look back.
But I lied.
I lied mostly to myself cause i thought i can do it !
But it wasn't the case ...
Because no matter how much money they gave me, how many threats or promises they made… I missed him. Too much, more than anything .
I was on the balcony of my small apartment, fingers curled around a lukewarm mug of lemon tea I didn't even drink. The city stretched before me like a restless sea of lights. But my eyes weren't on the view. They were on the street. Waiting.
And then—
Click.
Click .
A sound.
The faint, unmistakable sound of a key turning in my front door.
I froze. My heart punched hard against my ribs.
No one had a key.
No one only him …
The door creaked open, slowly. Shadows spilled across the floor. Heavy footsteps echoed in the silence.
I stepped back into the room, breath caught in my throat.
That silhouette. That walk. That posture.
It was him.
My soulmate .
My love .
My everything .
"Liam," I whispered, not sure if I was speaking to him or to the ghost of him I'd imagined a thousand times since I left.
He didn't answer at first. He stood in the doorway, his eyes locked on mine like he was making sure I was real.
Then—
"Why?" His voice was rough, deeper than I remembered. "Why the hell did you disappear, Madeleine?"
I bit my lip, pretending to be innocent. "I told you. I needed space. My ex… things got complicated."
He walked in slowly, shutting the door behind him, never breaking eye contact. "Don't lie to me."
My stomach twisted. He knew something. Or maybe… he just felt it.
"I was scared," I said softly, stepping closer. "But I missed you. Every second, why did you leave me madeleine ?."
He didn't speak. Just moved toward me. One step. Then another. Until we were inches apart.
"I thought about you every night," I breathed. "I couldn't sleep without picturing your hands… your mouth… us together "
That broke something in him. His hands gripped my waist, firm and aching. He pushed me gently against the wall, his lips grazing my neck.
"I missed every inch of you," he murmured against my skin. "You drove me insane, Madeleine."
I gasped as his mouth found the spot below my ear, hot and hungry. My fingers tangled in his shirt, yanking it over his head. Our clothes melted away, piece by piece, as if they'd been waiting for this moment too long.
Minutes later, we were tangled on the living room sofa, my legs wrapped around him, my body on fire. His lips worshipped my skin. His hands knew every place to touch. And when he entered me, it wasn't just lust—it was desperation. Like two souls trying to collide .
I cried his name. He whispered mine.
And for a moment, there was . No Sharon. No money. No secrets.
Only Me and Him .
Far from this world chaos ...
I knew coming back might cost me everything—Sharon, my ex Marc, even those two girls if they found out. But I didn't care.
Because right now, I had Liam beneath me.
and only this moment matter .
And I'd burn everything down to keep it that way
Even if i need to fight sharon for him
Just us.And the storm we'd invited back into our lives.
I had a feeling that neither those to girls or sharon will live as alone !
