"I'm so sorry, ma'am," Cassie said, her voice breaking. Even if Selene and Nikolas were playing some kind of prank, she still needed to secure her job, and besides, Cyrus had mentioned Nicki a couple of times.
"Stop," Selene said, raising her hand to cut her off. As much as it hurt her to see cassie crying,it still doesn't change the fact that she was careless with her son.
What she needed was an explanation for this whole mess, and also why Cyrus was being placed in a VIP room, which she had not had the chance to ask the doctor.
"Tell me what happened, Cassie. And how did Cyrus end up here? You were supposed to look after my son," Selene said.
"It was Nicki," Cassie blurted out. "Cyrus was playing with him when he got hurt." She lied.
As much as she would've loved to talk about whatever was going on between Nikolas and Selene, she needed to try and save her job, and if that meant throwing the hot, famous Nikolas Darkos under the bus, then so be it.
