Mrs Bai had just settled herself on her office chair after attending to in-patients' psychotherapy sessions. She closed her eyes slowly to rest for few minutes before attending to other schedules. The next moment, Mrs Huang barged into Mrs Bai's office without knocking, walking at a fast pace towards Mrs Bai.
"Bai Xiaoyu! Do you think I have the time to allow you sleep right now?" Mrs Huang scolded in a loud voice with one hand on the table and other hand on Mrs Bai's shoulder.
"I can't let you do this to me." Mrs Huang muttered as tears gathered in her eyes.
"Ziyu! I'm trying to take few minutes rest right now" Mrs Bai muttered still with her eyes closed.
"Rest my foot! Do you really wish to die? Are we not enough reason to change your mind?" Mrs Huang grabbed a task chair and dragged it close to Mrs Bai. "I'm not going anywhere till you give me answers." Mrs Huang folded her arms with a frown on her face.
"Ziyu! It's…... a 50/50 chance." Mrs Bai announced as she opened her eyes slowly. Immediately Mrs Huang heard that, her folded arms dropped slowly.
"W. wh…what… did you say?" Mrs Huang stuttered. "What do you mean?" Tears rolling down Mrs Huang's cheek.
"Even if I do survive the surgery, I'll be a burden." Mrs Bai added with a slight smile on her face. Mrs Huang understood what she meant by a burden and cried even harder.
"Why…... why are you just telling me this?" Mrs Huang said in a hoarse voice while hugging Mrs Bai's neck. "I'd hate to lose you as well. I won't give up on you." Mrs Huang affirmed with more tears flooding her eyes.
Mrs Bai's eyes flooded with tears as well while they both hug each other till they got emergency notifications moments later. Through the night, they attended meetings and seminars along with attending to in-patients.
Bai Shu had visited a friend in the community close by to them and came back late at night. She had expected that Bai Fengyi would be home by that time, but she was wrong because immediately she opened the door to her daughter's room, Bai Fengyi was no where to be found.
She quickly unlocked her phone to give her a call only to hear that it's on a voicemail. Bai shu bit her lower lip and dialed the number again but still on a voicemail.
Bai Shu sat down on the couch and waited for her daughter to come back so she can be caught red handed. She sat down and later fell asleep there till the next morning.
Bai Xue slept from evening through the night without eating dinner. It was now the sleepless night took a toll on her. While she was still enjoying the sleep very early in the morning by 7:08AM with the time showing on her alarm clock, she received a call from an unknown number which she ignored by throwing the pillow on it to reduce the sound.
The call came in the second time, but she couldn't ignore it anymore because it vibrated on the bed disturbing her sweet sleep.
"Hello!" Bai Xue answered the call in her tiny hoarse voice since she was still half asleep. She squinted her eyes while staring at the window as the sunrise was hitting the room.
"Hello! This is Liu Jiajun, am I speaking with miss Bai Xue?" A thick male voice sounded on the phone.
"Yes, that is me." Bai Xue answered with her eyes closed and her head rested on the pillow. "How may I help you?" She blurted in her tiny hoarse voice without thinking about the name she heard earlier.
Liu Jiajun heard her tiny morning voice again and chuckled slightly. He wondered if she forgot she is getting married soon. He stood up from his chair and stood close to the window in his room. He was already in his suit attire ready to go to work.
Bai Xue heard when his thick voice chuckled and wondered who was on the phone trying to prank her early in the morning. She knew the voice wasn't Xiaodan's since it isn't as thick as the one on the phone.
"I'm so sorry to wake you up this early Miss Bai Xue, Pardon my manners." Liu Jiajun apologized.
"But I don't know who you are, how did you get my number? How do you know my name?" Bai Xue scolded as she opened her eyes, but her head still rested on the pillow.
"Of course, I know your name, since we'll be getting married soon." Liu Jiajun chuckled again at her actions. He pondered when she'll realize he's the one calling.
"Huh? Who's getting married to...." She almost scolded him for spouting nonsense and the next seconds she flew up from her bed after realizing, which caused her to fall on the ground. "Mr Liu..." Bai Xue called out his name before hissing in pain.
"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" Liu Jiajun's brows furrowed immediately he heard the loud thud through the phone. He quickly removed his hand from his pocket with a worried expression he felt really guilty for what happened to her.
"I'm fine, Mr Liu JiaJun, I wasn't expecting you to call this early. Please pardon me!" Bai Xue stood up from the ground slowly and sat on the bed. Her tiny voice now clear.
"No, I should be apologizing, I didn't think you'd be asleep by this hour. I apologize for my rudeness." Liu Jiajun apologized.
Bai Xue heard his thick voice properly now and blushed. It looks much like it's her type.
"How was your night?" Liu Jiajun asked with a smile on his face.
"It was good, I slept well, thank you." Bai Xue smiled and wondered with surprise How he's showing this much concern considering it's their first phone call.
"That's good, I called to talk a little about our marriage. Since we don't know much about each other, how about we go on a date together for a start." Liu Jiajun announced.
Bai Xue blushed a little with the way he sounded sincere and caring when he asked to go on a date. "That's okay with me, but aren't you leaving to work this morning? I don't think you'd have the time." Bai Xue pouted.
"Of course, I have time for you, we'll be going in the evening. I'll pick you up by 5pm." He checked the time on his wristwatch before speaking again. "And please call me Liu Jiajun, it's not right for my fiancée to call me mister."
"Ok, Liu Jiajun." Bai Xue mumbled and blushed after.
Liu Jiajun heard her little, tiny voice and smiled. He ended the call at once and rushed out of his room. It seems like he's in a hurry.
"Yang Wei, schedule a meeting with the executives." Liu Jiajun ordered his secretary as they both strode out of his private suite.
Bai Xue blushed and rolled on her bed immediately the call ended. She's starting to like the type of person Liu Jiajun is, but her heart isn't fully settled yet. She stopped rolling and pondered if he really is this caring.
