"Kamen Rider!" Peter finally heard the name of the man with the blue and white helmet on TV.
He felt a deep stirring in his heart, his eyes wide with awe and excitement, as though he longed to reach through the screen to share his admiration with the knight on the other side.
He wanted to ask for the Rider's autograph, but his bodyāstill weak from the radioactive spider biteāwouldn't let him move.
The onlookers were just as captivated, shouting with shining eyes, worshipping the mysterious hero.
"Kamen Rider! You're my god!"
"Kamen Rider, my superhero!"
Some enthusiastic women even threw clothing at Alex Ray, hoping he would sign them. Their gazes were full of adoration and infatuation.
Alex Ray found their actions both amusing and a little overwhelming as he eyed the clothes flying toward him.
If not for the cordoned-off area, they might've asked him to sign directly on their chests.
"Damn Kamen Rider!" Doctor Octopus roared.
Alex Ray looked down at the scientist, who was still partially controlled by his mechanical arms. Without hesitation, he crushed all the robotic limbs one by one. Metal shards and components scattered across the ground, a testament to the brutal clash that had just occurred.
With the destruction of his mechanical arms, Doctor Octopus regained clarity. He glanced around in confusion, then turned to Alex and pleaded, "Please⦠kill me. I don't want to hurt anyone else."
Alex didn't speak. His expression remained cold.
He stepped forward and delivered a clean punch to the side of Otto's head, knocking him out instantly.
Then, Alex forcibly tore the remaining neural interface off Doctor Octopus' neck. Blood gushed out, but the man was still breathing.
At least now, the machine would no longer be able to control him.
After completing this task, Alex pulled a small, glowing green bean from his pocketāa healing item of magical origināand placed it beside Otto's mouth.
Otto Octavius was still useful. Alex needed to know if this version of Doctor Octopus was native to this universe. If not, then how did he arrive?
According to Alex's understanding, Otto shouldn't have even existed in this timeline yet. It was far too early.
Suspicion and curiosity gnawed at him. He needed answers.
Deciding to keep the scientist alive, Alex slung the unconscious man over his shoulder and quickly vanished from the scene. Moments later, police arrived and sealed off the area. Firefighters and medics rushed in for cleanup and rescue.
Meanwhile, both the crowd and viewers at home buzzed with discussion about the mysterious hero.
"The heroic Kamen Rider disappeared from the scene in style. It's a pity we couldn't secure an interview," a news reporter said excitedly to the camera. "Who is this Kamen Rider? NNC will keep following the story!"
Peter Parker, exhausted, stumbled back into his room and collapsed onto his bed. Even as he drifted off, he murmured, "Kamen Riderā¦"
Elsewhere, not far from the site of the battle, a figure crouched in the shadowsāsomeone who looked eerily like a black-clad Spider-Man.
"I thought this universe didn't have any superheroes," the figure muttered. "Good thing I didn't go hunting just yet."
It was Eddie Brock, now possessed by Venom. The left side of his face twitched as the black symbiote writhed over it, whispering hunger into his mind.
"Okay, okay," Eddie whispered, patting his face. "There's plenty of food here. You just had two. Wait till you digest, then we'll go deal with this Kamen Rider."
He grinned, darkly amused.
There was no Spider-Man in this worldānot yet. Eddie had assumed he'd been blown up by Spider-Man's bomb back in his own universe. Instead, it turned out to be a dimensional displacement. A blessing in disguise.
Not only had he formed a more stable connection with Venom, but he had also landed in a universe wide open for conquest.
Unlike Otto, Eddie wasn't just a monster. He had the instincts of a reporter. He knew where to look for information.
After a bit of searchingāand thanks to the memories Venom had absorbed from two unlucky victimsāEddie had concluded that this world had no superheroes.
As for the mysterious Kamen Rider? Eddie believed that once Venom regained full strength, no one could stand in their way.
His wicked smile widened as he began imagining all the ways he could dominate this new world.
Just then, two men strolled into the alley where Eddie was lurking. Spotting him alone, they approached with bad intentions.
Eddie glanced up and muttered, "Two more meals delivered straight to the door."
The last thing the two thugs saw was the symbiote's toothy maw engulfing them.
A minute later, Eddie walked out of the alley calmly. The two men had vanished without a trace.
He decided it was time to feed Venom properly, then find a secure hideout to begin his campaign.
On the other side of town, Harry Osborn had just returned homeāonly to be greeted by a trail of blood and his father lying motionless in a pool of it.
His face turned white. He stumbled backward in shock.
"Dad? Dad!" he shouted, rushing to Norman Osborn's side.
Tears welled up in Harry's eyes as he grabbed his father's hand, praying for a pulse.
All he felt was cold.
He screamed, his voice breaking, "Somebody help! Call an ambulance!"
The living room was in shamblesāsmashed furniture, blood smeared across the floor, scorch marks near the fireplace.
Harry's heart pounded with fear and fury.
"Who did this?" he yelled into the empty house. "Come out! Show yourself!"
There was only silence.
Then, he noticed something.
His father's trembling hand was slowly pointing behind him.
Harry turnedāand saw a man hovering on a glider, clad in green armor, clutching a pumpkin-shaped explosive.
The intruder was terrifying. His mechanical suit shimmered with sinister energy. His weapon hissed in the air, ready to strike.
Harry froze in horror.
"Who are you? Why are you here? Why did you kill my father?"
The man removed his helmet slowly, revealing a cruel grin.
"Harry," he said. "Still the same pathetic loser⦠My loser son."
Harry's breath caught in his throat.
The man in the green armor was none other than Norman Osbornābut not the Norman he knew.
It was the Green Goblin from a parallel universe.
