"A Vampire," Caius admitted immediately. The signs of struggle, suspiciously gone from his voice.
That was because it was all an act.
Sure Kaya's blood was becoming irresistible, but it was not to the extent of him being forced to show off his fangs. He revealed this because he wanted to.

'I need to strike when I have the most chance at success. If all goes to plan, she'll let me feed on her.'

Again Caius shrugged,
'We'll see.'
Samantha raised a brow but smiled and said nothing more. She just stood floating in mid-air, watching the scene play out.

He let out a heavy pained sigh,
"I've lived with my— condition for years and I thought I could manage it. Usually I can but sometimes I lose control. I felt it was happening so I had to stop."
"But yesterday…" Kaya started.
"Yesterday, I barely managed to keep it in check. It's why I thought I could do it again today," Caius interrupted,
"I was wrong."
"Are you in pain? Do you—Do you have to feed?" Kaya asked.
What other sign could there be that she wasn't thinking straight? But Caius could see the end of his rouse now and knew he had to seize the chance.
Adopting a sarcastic tone, he asked,
"Why? Are you offering?"
