After the men in the room had calm down, Rick turn to BB and said, "We weren't aware she died until recently let alone how she died. That man who took her hid her well."
"What do you mean took her?" BB asked.
"Your mother had an affair," said BB's father, "you are not a product of this affair, but her lover was convinced you were. We know otherwise due to your age and the timing. It was impossible for him to have conceived you, but he was convinced and stole your mother and you away, this person is none other than the man that raised you as your uncle."
OK, that story seems more like something that could've happened. Uncle Bob is a bit hardheaded and not very nice," BB said nodding her head in understanding, "I could definitely see him stealing away someone he was in love with, but one small problem…"
"What is that, BB?" her father asked.
"My uncle was married for 30 years. He got married at the age of 18! And she died when I was 12. How on earth would he have stolen his lover and taking her with him while he was married?"
The three brothers all looked at each other with their eyes wide-open in disbelief, but the father just sat there knowingly.
"If the man was brazen enough to steal my wife away from me, I don't think he was bright enough to think through all the consequences," BB's father said.
"Well, that would explain why she hated me so much," BB nodding her head, "so what does this mean for my uncle?"
"Well, he'll be arrested of course, no man gets away with what he did Scott free," Rick said, nodding his head.
"Is that really necessary?" BB asked
"Are you defending this man?!" Shouted Cody.
"Look I have known y'all for all of two minutes I have known my uncle my entire life, so excuse me that I'm not really taking much weight into what y'all say right now. I'll go along with this. See where the facts all end up landing, but until you give me some real proof as to why I shouldn't believe my uncle and doubt his character no, I'm not going to slander him and immediately assume he's in the wrong. I've known him my whole life I've known you all of five minutes!" BB retorted,
"Also I've known he's a criminal my entire life as well. The fact that he's not on right side of the law is not unknown to me, so nothing you're saying is a mind shattering revelation to me. I've always known he's not on the up and up, heck almost everyone I know is not completely clean. I've also spent more than a few nights in the county jail." BB added.
BB's two youngest brothers stared at her wide eyed.
"But we are your real family, BB!" Andy shouted, "Can't you give us a chance?"
"Yeah, if you're willing to give some dirt bag the benefit of the doubt you should also be willing to give us that as well because again we are your real family," said Cody in a condescending tone.
"Hey, watch your tongue nobody talks about my uncle like that except me! Show me some proof that he did this and maybe I'll consider your words and if they're right, I'll eat my own words, but until then keep your trap shut about him!"
"Eough!" shouted father. He then let out a sigh and rubbed the space between his eyes. "Look until everything gets resolved you will be staying with us. End of discussion there is no room for argument here. Since that's the case, why don't we show you to your room where you'll be staying?"
Phoebe close her eyes and took a big breath. She really didn't wanna have to stay here, but she saw no way out of it at this moment so she nodded her head in agreement.
Father looked towards his sons and said, "I'll show her to her room you three wait here I have much to discuss with you."
All three of them noted their heads in agreement. BB and father then got up and headed upstairs. BB followed him to a door which he opened an inside was a very pretty and very pink bedroom.
"This is your room. I'm sorry it's meant for a much younger girl but after a while I just couldn't bring myself to updated anymore. We can go shopping for new furnishings a different day."
He turned around and was headed out the door, but then he paused and said, "I'm so happy I finally found you." He smiled at her before then walking out of the room.
BB looked around the room. The flooring was done with white Stained hardwood. There was a pink couch in front of a TV with matching furnishings that created a nice living area in the bedroom. The bed was a large king size bed with a pink canopy and pink and gold sheets and bedding. There were large windows and a balcony that overlooked a very pretty garden.
BB gave a low whistle and said to herself, "This is some kind of princess room."
She walked over to the bed and laid down on it. She had never laid on a bed this comfortable before. Growing up, mainly in rule, southern Georgia in her younger years and then in rule Louisiana in the swamps, she didn't even always have a bad for almost her life. She slept on a couch or a hammock.
Luxury wasn't foreign to her. She'd seen her fair share of it in other points in her life, but between her upbringing and her time in the military, she wasn't exactly accustomed to this kind of bedroom.
As she sunk deeper into the cushion in bed she said out loud to herself, "Well… what now?"
