Chapter 4 - The Brothers

Late that night in the man cave of the mansion, at the bar, the three brothers sat drinking and talking about the situation with BB.

The bar was made out of a dark wood with a marble countertop, and each of the three brothers was sitting at a barstool with a leather seat while a servant serve them their drinks.

Rick picked up his drink in hand and swirled it around his mind churning from today's events.

Cody broke the silence of the room first. "So what do we do now? It seems like she doesn't want to stay."

"I Don't think that's 100% true. I think she just wants to wait until things settle down before making any definitive decisions. We did kind of just turn her whole life upside down," Rick said with a sigh.

"Yeah I mean, think about it to us we may have been missing a sister our whole lives, but she never had any idea we existed and now we just pop up out of nowhere. We are, however, trying to get the person who raised her arrested and have completely upend her entire existence. I don't think it's fair for us to expect her to accept this right away or to accept us right away, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt," Andy said with a sad smile on his face.

"I just wish we could've found her sooner. I would've loved to have grown up with a little sister," added Rick.

"Yeah, that would've been the best, added Andy, I can just imagine it now. She seems like a no nonsense kind of person. I can see her fussing at Cody for running away and backing up Rick and father whenever you or I Cody got in trouble for fights at school. She definitely would've been a no nonsense little sister. Oh but maybe if she was raised with us, she wouldn't be like that," he added that last part with us said frown on his face.

"Oh, I bet she would have still been like that no matter how spoiled she would've been in our house," said Cody," I will, however, say I don't think she would have been on Dad and Rick's side. I bet she would've been in trouble with us as well. She did say she's been in the county jail a few times. I bet she would've been a fun sister to raise hell with in our teenage years! I can just see it now her and I ditching school to go to a bar and play pool yeah I bet she would've been a bad ass sister to have in high school."

"Well, does it really matter," anyways, grunted Rick, "it didn't happen like that because that bastard took her away. What's the point in reminiscing what could've been thanks to mom and that man's choices. She grew up, abused, and neglected." His voice started to crack as he added that last bit.

When they had finally found some leads on where BB was, Rick had uncovered past police reports from her childhood. The reason baby had to move to the swamp of Louisiana was because child services had been called on their (family) multiple times on how she was being treated. Rick had assumed because the cops had been snooping around them. Her uncle decided to pack up and leave and move somewhere else even harder for anyone to find them.

And he was right their family had picked up their trail back then because of that situation and had they not have moved BB would have been found.

Rick could remember that time is clear as day. They were so close to finding her but when they made it to the mobile home where they had tracked her down to, they had already left.

Rick could remember his father crying that night. He had tried to hide it, but I could still hear it through the walls.

They were all heartbroken from that. Afterwards, they couldn't find any trace of her until a few weeks ago, an anonymous tip was given to them by who they eventually found out to be babies's fake grandmother.

None of them knew why she did this nor do they really care. only BB's grandmother knew why it was because she had just found out that her son-in-law had cheated on her daughter and she was livid so she wanted to get him arrested.

Rick was still in the world of his own mind when Cody interrupted his train of thought.

"Do think she'll ever come to like us. I'm not even talking about loving us like brothers, the time for that may of long since passed, but do you think she'll like us as people?"

Rick and Andy glanced at each other and, after a long pause to think, Andy said to Cody, "I think so or at least I hope so. Really don't know enough about her to give you a good answer."

"Hey Rick," Cody added, " you've been looking into her longer. What do you know about her?"

"Um, well," Rick said hesitantly, " I know she was in ROTC in high school and she just got out of the military not too long ago. I know she has a lot of different hunting and fishing licenses, but I can't remember them all off the top of my head. I also know that for a few chunks of the year she isn't in Louisiana, but I don't really know where she is. She also has a bank account, but I don't know how much is in it. I really couldn't figure out what she did for a living."

After pausing for another second to think he also added, "She owns a motorcycle and several boats. She had a red truck for a while before she totaled it in a car accident. Oh, she has a few dogs!"

Andy Smiled when he heard that, yeah, she does seem like the kind of person who would like dogs.

What do you mean by that?" asked Cody.

She just seems like the outdoorsy type and someone who really likes nature and animals in general though I bet her dogs are hunting dogs. Andy said and after pausing for a second to think he added we should really get her dogs to her when we can, I wonder what kind they are

After Andy asked this were took out his phone and started scrolling through something. After a while, he said one of them is a bluetick. Two of them are basset hounds, and one of them is a bloodhound.

Cody laughed at this and said "Looks like she likes hound dogs."

"Yeah, that seems like it's fitting said Andy, "They are all dogs with a purpose."

Rick chuckled and then added "yeah looks like we're gonna need some dog beds in our mansion in Georgia and a few dog houses for them and of course some toys too."

"Who would've thought that, for the bulk of our childhoods, we were, all four of us, in the same state," said Rick with a hollow look on his face.

Their family's main estate was in Georgia in the suburbs of Metro Atlanta.

Rick then said, "I Think she'll like it better at the main estate than here that property has a lot more land and it is closer comparatively to places she could hunt than this estate."

"Yeah, once things settle down a bit, we should ask her to come there with us. I prefer to train at that estate anyways, so it would be very convenient for me," said Cody.

"Not for me," said Andy, "Silicone Valley is here!"

"Oh, I'm sure you could work just as well at the main estate," said Rick with a roll of his eyes, "you're just picky."

"Hey I resemble that remark," said Andy.

And that all three of the brothers left good-naturedly.
