Wu Zhi and Gu Xaio later went on to finish dinner and have some dessert. "Actually do to the new technique I'm practicing it requires some medicine to have great success in the technique" he tried to casually mention. "Oh due tell, what technique are you practicing and what medicine do you need. I am currently practicing the bone refinement technique. The technique describes some medicine such as jade root, 1000 year old ginseng and bone bonding spirit leaf". "My my, bone bonding spirit leaf, you sure think I'm rich... however I could give some jade root... if you make me a promise" she said with a mischievous smile on her face. "And what promise would that be" he replied. "You have to spend the entire week with me. No going off to meditate for 3 days or holing yourself up in the training room. I want you to spend your time with ME" she said. 'Wow she must really have no one to talk too' Wu Zhi thought to himself. "Sure I can spend some time with you, I was already planning on doing so" he replied. She instantly had a bright smile on her face and said "Great! Then I will have some jade root delivered to your room you can wake up around 2 and half hours after day break to have some breakfast with me". She was in such a happy mood that she brought over her maid and said "Yi Ruo, go send Wu Zhi here to our guest room that we prepared and gather a small amount of jade root to send to his room as soon as you can".
With that Wu Zhi was led to his guest room which was its own building separate from the main estate. It was fully furnished and had everything you could ask for especially for a temporary residence. "If you need anything sir please let me know and I can do my best to complete your requests. I will bring you your jade root as soon as I can". With that she politely left the room while bowing leaving Wu Zhi inside his new home for the next week. It was certainly better than his dorm was, it was more spacious and luxurious. It had a full king sized bed, sprawled with huge quilts and delicate and soft fur covering certain parts of the bed. He was excited to see how much progress he could achieve in his cultivation with some jade root. Given no medicine the technique described how it would take a person 50 - 60 years of cultivation to fully refine their bones to the highest level. Flawless bones the book described them. at the lowest level you have your normal typical bones, however the higher you refine your bones the more different they become. The technique described how its different from person to person. Some people after refining their bones it turns out to be jade bones but with many impurities and low quality. Some people refine their bones and have amazing bronze bones with incredible durability and resistance. Others have gold bones, iron bones, copper bones, crystal bones, emerald bones, and more. The book said that the bones one receives is completely random. Or rather the person who described this phenomenon has no idea what influences a person to have that set of bones. This is actually where the jade bone art shines, as it is all about replacing your bones with a certain type of jade. You know exactly what bones your getting and what advantages and disadvantages your getting. *Knock* *Knock* the maid entered the room and presented him with a delicate box. "Here is your jade root sir, I hope you have a good nights rest" she said as she made sure not to have eye contact and to be as polite as possible. "Thank you, I hope you sleep well tonight as well" she nodded and then left the room. He opened the box to see a set of roots that were quite pristine. They had a smooth texture to them with a tinge of green. The technique described consuming the roots directly and using the energy your body provides after ingesting the roots to nourish your bones and to try to refine them. For this particular medicine the pain should be negligible - a slight bit of irritation or itchiness - but as a result the effects were also the worst out of all the other medicine. It should be noted that the best medicine to use were listed in order from worst to best: jade root, nectar from a bright holy sunflower, honey from a royal honey bee, 1000 year old ginseng root, and finally the bone bonding spirit leaf. In particular the bone bonding spirit leaf was the most sought after and the most expensive of the bunch. 'Now let's see how well the jade root does' He immediately ate the root and went into a meditative pose, ready to use the night to refine his bones. As the sensation arrived and his started to refine the bones he realized quickly that the technique greatly underestimated the level of irritation and itchiness that he would receive. It was simply madness. He had to struggle like crazy just to keep himself from twitching. A pure amount amount of itchiness so intense his face was scrunched up so much nobody would recognize him. Breathing felt like a curse, existence was an endless wave of pain, while the mere thought of scratching deep into his bones to relieve himself was so tempting he had to bite himself just to regain clarity of mind and to not do something so foolish. It would be a long night of torture for him. A night he would remember as a night of unending pain.
