Lunch break had just started when Ren heard a high-pitched voice calling out his name.
"Ren-senpai!!"
He turned, confused—and was suddenly tackled into a hug from below.
Wrapped tightly around his waist was a small girl with twin ponytails, sparkling eyes, and cheeks puffed with pride.

"You don't remember me, huh? Rude! It's me—Mei Kanzaki! We met at the library once when you helped me reach a book, remember?"
Ren tried to recall. "Wait… the girl from last semester?"
She grinned. "Bingo!"
Mei was a first-year—tiny, energetic, loud, and apparently fearless. Her oversized uniform sleeves dangled as she tugged at Ren's hand.

"I watched you in the cafeteria for two days," she said casually, as if it was completely normal.
"That's… a little scary."
She giggled. "You'll get used to it. So? Will you be my boyfriend?"
Ren coughed on his rice.
"WHAT?!"
"Someday! I mean someday," she corrected quickly. "For now, I'll just be your number one fan."
She held up a tiny paper badge: #1 Ren Supporter.
He didn't know whether to laugh or run.

Mei skipped beside him through the hallway, proudly clinging to his arm. Students stared. Whispers spread.
And from behind various corners, four girls watched… fuming, stunned, and slightly impressed.
"First-year… huh?" Haruka muttered.
Yui stayed quiet, her gaze darkening slightly.
Emi scribbled "rival analysis" in her planner.
Rika just said, "The game's heating up."
