Ren didn't sleep much the night before.
His brain replayed five conversations.
Five smiles. Five confessions. Five girls… and one very confused heart.
He sighed, dragging himself into class.
But Class 2-B was unusually quiet that morning.
He stepped in—and froze.
Yui, Haruka, Emi, Rika, and even Mei (somehow sitting in on a second-year class) were all gathered in a circle.
Talking.
Together.
Without killing each other.
Yet.
"Emergency Girl Meeting," Emi declared.
Ren overheard bits of it from his desk.
Haruka: "You guys should back off. I've known him since we were in diapers."
Yui: "But he was kind to me when no one else was."
Rika: "He sat next to me during a boss fight. That's romantic in my book."
Mei: "I made him lunch! Homemade love points!"
Emi pushed up her glasses. "I have top grades and social respect. Clearly, I'm most compatible."
Haruka: "Are you trying to make this into a math problem?!"
Yui: "Can we… not turn him into a prize?"
They all went silent.
Meanwhile…
Ren sat at his desk, pretending to read, but his ears burned red.
They're arguing about me? Seriously?
After school, he tried to slip away. Quiet exit. No drama.
But when he opened the classroom door—
They were all there.
Waiting.
Rika crossed her arms. "We've decided something."
Haruka added, "You need to choose."
Ren panicked. "Choose?"
Mei raised her hand. "Choose one of us to go on a date with this Sunday!"
Yui looked away, blushing. "Just… as friends. For now."
Even Emi nodded. "A fair trial."
"Date?" Ren's voice cracked.
Rika grinned. "Don't worry, you'll survive."
Back home…
Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, Ren whispered:
"…What is happening to my life?"
And yet, deep inside, a small smile formed.
Maybe he didn't have all the answers yet.
But one thing was clear.
Sunday…
Was going to be interesting.
