Few days have passed the skies above the Iwa and Konoha border darkened with ash and smoke. Explosions thundered in the distance and the mountains trembled with every clash of Jutsu. The First Great Ninja War had reached a critical phase and today the battlefield would remember a name.
Senju Raizen - the Dragon of the Leaf.
He, Might Fist and commander watched the battlefield. Worn but unyielding. Blood and dust clung to their cloths but their eyes burned with resolve. Around them other Konoha shinobi scrambled to hold the line as Iwagakure launched a complete frontal assault.
Nara Shikaji the calm yet sharp minded battlefield commander raised his voice above the chaos.
Shikaji: "Raizen and Might Fist secure the left flank near the ridge. If that falls we are done for"
Raizen nodded without hesitation.
Raizen: "Understood. Let's move."
They jumped into chaos.
At the frontlines the enemy surged like a living tide. Earth walls erupted lava flared and kunai flew like rain. But amidst it all one presence silenced the noise. A figure walked forward from the Iwa side each step melting the stone.
Rokuro of the Lava Fist the Four-Tails Jinchuriki had entered the battlefield.
Steam curled from his shoulders. His fists were molten stone. With every breath he radiated primal power. The moment his eyes locked with Raizen's the very air thickened.
Rokuro: "You're the one they call Dragon... Let's see if you burn."
Without warning Rokuro smashed his fist into the ground. A fissure tore through the earth lava bursting from beneath and rushing toward Raizen's position.
Soru Raizen vanished reappearing behind Rokuro mid air his leg slicing forward with Rankyaku. The shockwave screamed through the air but evaporated before reaching Rokuro's back. The huge chakra around the Jinchuriki deflected the strike.
Might Fist charged into a group of Iwa Jonin approaching from the east intercepting them before they could assist Rokuro.
Fist: "I will hold these three off. Don't let the big one walk away!"
The earth cracked beneath Raizen as his body began to change.
Scales tore through his skin. A tail unfurled behind him. Horns sprouted from his forehead, and his eyes became gold with vertical pupils. His arms and legs swelled with strength armored like a beast. This was no longer just chakra or bloodline. It was a transformation beyond the shinobi world.
The Fish-Fish Fruit (Mythical Type) Mid Integration.
The battlefield fell into a hush as Raizen's beast form emerged. Even seasoned Jonin paused in terror. Even Rokuro's expression hardened. He recognized a fellow monster.
The two charged. Fist met claw.
Fire met flame. Rokuro's lava coated punches clashed with Raizen's armament hardened strikes. Branches erupted from the ground as Wood Release was activated binding Rokuro momentarily only to be vaporized in molten heat.
Raizen used Moon Walk to soar into the air and then unleashed Kaido's Flame Breath.
A torrent of golden hot fire engulfed the field forcing Konoha shinobi to shield their eyes. Rokuro raised his arms in defense but even he was pushed back. His lava armor made of four tails chakra started to crack.
As Rokuro staggered Raizen's presence surged.
The very air bent as his Conqueror's Haki flared to life. A pressure wave rippled across the battlefield. One by one Iwa shinobi dropped like flies eyes rolled back foaming at the mouth collapsing from sheer willpower.
Even distant Jonin halted sweat beading on their brows.
Rokuro dropped to one knee coughing blood but not unconscious. He grinned blood running down his lips.
Rokuro: "You're... not human..."
Raizen: "I'm Dragon of the leaf. Remember it."
With Rokuro beaten and the enemy stunned Sarutobi Hiruzen and the Konoha commander surged forward to push the advantage. Raizen was exhausted as this was his first time using the fruit power at Mid level but still he was standing tall.
From the rear the signal flares flew. Iwagakure's assault was broken.
Just when they thought they had won.
