Chapter 7 (Bom POV): The Secret
Two days passed.
Finally, Regis showed his face at the royal gardens. I was lounging under a tree. Bob was behind me, flat on the ground, snoring like a relaxed cow in a hot summer. Classy as always. , guess its bob huh !
Regis's face? Half shy, half angry, half embarrassed.
Triple shame combo. You know why. the kiss thing ...
"The trip to Lordor…" he muttered, scratching his neck. "For the dragon blood. When are you starting it?"
I smiled lazily. "Tomorrow. Easy. But Regis, listen. That Night Terror at Bok Bok Restaurant—the one who tried to stab me instead of enjoying a good chicken dish—I don't think that was random."
He narrowed his eyes. "Bom, what could possibly be weirder than you kissing me that day?"
I rolled my eyes. "Can you stop bringing up the kiss? I'm being serious for once."
He sighed. "Fine. Speak."
I leaned in. "The knife. There was a poppy flower carved on it."
"So?"
I sat up properly now. "Poppy means 'last bloodline.' If Darcy and the Night Terrors are behind this, then Faye's not just important—she's legendary."
That's when Regis froze. He rubbed his temples like his head was about to explode.
"Bom… what I'm about to tell you is a secret. No one else knows. Not even the guards. Just me, her before she lost her memories, and my dead father."
I raised my eyebrows. "I love secrets."
He took a deep breath. "Faye isn't some random orphan my father saved. She's… the last princess of Lordor."
I blinked. Then I blinked again. Then I screamed.
"WHAT?!"
"Shut up! Don't yell!"
I ignored him. "That explains the pink hair! That's royal blood color! I mean—are you sure? I thought the whole royal family was wiped out by the Night Terrors."
Regis nodded grimly. "They were. Except for her."
I sat there, stunned for once in my beautiful life. "So that's why they're still after her…"
Regis clenched his fists. "They thought they finished the job. Now they know she's alive."
"Why now though? Lordor's already fallen. Why finish the job now?"
Regis shook his head. "I don't know. I just know I'm going to protect her this time. No matter what."
Silence.
Then I asked, "Shouldn't we tell her before we go to Lordor?"
"No. Not yet," he said firmly. "She's barely holding herself together after waking up as a half-monster. It's too soon."
"Fine. We wait," I agreed.
That's when I heard the snoring stop behind me.
Bob sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Sorry, Your Majesty… but I heard everything."
I stared at him.
Oh no. I forgot Bob was literally sleeping right there.
Regis glared at me, furious. "You're the worst at keeping secrets!"
"Not my fault! You should've checked the garden before telling me the secret of the century! Maybe Bob didn't hear everything—"
Bob: "I heard everything. Faye. Last princess. Only survivor. Lordor."
I buried my face in my hands. "You just ended me."
No. Wait. No one can end me. I'm Bom.
But Regis… Regis looked like he was about to murder something.
Probably me.
