Kael didn't say a word
Jace asked Rusk about magic and teaching it to him, however he did not agree to it as it is very risky. While hearing them argue about it, Kael took Rusk's side.
Then, Jace became angry and left towards woods.
After Jace left, Kael argued with Rusk "there will be a huge war coming that kill every living being, so i am sure he would be help to us".
Rusk shocked, "What !!, how did you know there will be war".
"It does not matter", Kael became angry, "Why can't you just teach magic to Jace i am sure he can handle it".
"Listen kid, there is a risk that he might die, i told you yesterday", Rusk explained to him "Look magic affects ordinary people differently, so it would be best best if you understand that".
"What if he dies in that war that was written in the letter", Kael with angry face, "What happens then, what if i am not strong enough to protect him".
"Okay, go talk to your friend, tell him the risks, if he still wants to learn it, i will teach it to him", Rusk replied "But remember if something happens to Jace, This is on you".
"Fine, i will go talk to him about it", then left Kael to find Jace.
As he went into the woods he found Jace sitting by the lake with a gloomy face, "I just want to help Kael, i know he is special".
Kael approached him "Hey what's going on, i came to check on you".
"I understand you came here to cheer me on", Jace looked at Kael, "I know, it is dangerous, i heard everything yesterday when you were talking to Rusk".
"I am not here for that and i am not mad at you for evesdropping ", Kael said, "There is a chance that you might die if you want to learn magic, it is risky".
"I don't care i just wanna help you become strong", Jace with determination "Now that you got some power, you might leave me so I don't wanna be a burdan along the way".
"Alright, i get it Rusk said that he would teach you", Kael relaxed, "But it still risky".
Jace became happy "Yea, now i can become stronger so i can help you".
The boys were happy, and head back to the cabin. And inside there Rusk was waiting with a serious look.
"Are you guys ready, it will be painful for the first time".
The boys became determined to overcome it "Yes, Let's start".
Rusk made Jace sit and explained:
"Listen kid, close your eyes and gather positive mana energy but if it becomes too much control it, stop otherwise you could get hurt, after that form it in your hand".
Jace nodded.
"Also, Do not gather negative mana energy if you gather certain amount it will take control of your body and demon might get inside you" Rusk added.
Then the process begun. Jace started quickly gathering positive energy and started forming it in his hand. After staying like that for a bit. Rusk stopped him:
"That's enough, you might be genius in magic users, you pulled it off in the first try."
Jace became overjoyed "See, I can control it".
Rusk, then, called Kael, "Kael come here, it's your turn now show me who you are".
Kael stepped up, "here we go".
Once Kael started, he gathered immense amount of mana in his hand. Rusk and Jace were surprised. Suddenly the flame inside him awakened and Kael was in the middle of a circle made by fire. The heat was intense.
Rusk, thinking he lost control, shouted, "Stop, Stop you are gonna kill yourself".
However, he didn't lose control, then he stopped it, the fire slowly stopped.
"See i did not lose control", Kael bragged.
"Yeah, Yeah, now wash up before we eat something", said Rusk, "That's enough for today".
After training, They prepared rabbit meal as always. Rabbit was delicious even more. The boys finished it faster than normal. They had never tasted anything this good in their life of being slaves.
Rusk with smile "How was the rabbit, wasn't good".
The boys replied "Yeah, it wasn't like this yesterday".
"That's because you now have mana in your body, It heightened your senses" Rusk replied.
After finishing the dinner, Rusk showed them how to do magic spells.
He took some rock in his hand, and used mana to slice it to make a statue. The boys were amazed, they didn't believe their eyes. They asked Rusk to teach it to them but Rusl said:
"I will teach you but not now".
Then they went to the cabin to get some sleep saying "Okay but you have to teach it".
Rusk was happy he saw smile on their faces.
And then he went to sleep as well outside.
When Kael was dreaming, he saw the flame again:
"Kael you have to become stronger if you want to use my power".
Kael woke up sweating "What was that did the flame say i have to become stronger".
Kael stepped outside and went to sit with a the diary in his hand, he started reading it.
While he was reading he discovered that he could put mana into objects. To test it out he picked up wood and put mana into it. Wood became on fire because he put too much mana into it, so he put out the fire.
He noticed a knife in Rusk's clothes, he became curiousm, without letting him know he slowly took it.
And, he got into the woods where nobody can see him. He slowly gathered positive mana energy and put it into the knife. Then he covered the edges of knife with mana.
Kael curiously swung it like sword at the tree.
Suddenly the tree collapsed, he became scared and run to the cabin. Then he slowly put the knife to Rusk's pocket and went to the cabin.
But, Rusk wasn't sleeping and he didn't let him know that he wasn't asleep. He knew what he had done because he had followed him and seen what he did with the knife.
Before Kael came running he had already returned to pretend like he was sleeping.
