Before Kael came running he had already returned to pretend like he was sleeping.
Right after Kael went into the cabin, he dropped to the floor, exausted.
"What the hell happened", Kael said this and fainted with shock.
Before dawn, he regained his consciousness. Before anyone noticed he went to his bed.
After finishing breakfast, Rusk made the boys train again, until they can gather positive mana energy subconsciously.
After a while, the boys became bored, and they complained, "Please teach us that trick you showed yesterday, we can't sit still like this".
"No, I don't teach you that until you can gather mana even in your sleep", Rusk said, "This is important".
He showed them how he gathers mana, while moving around talking. he made it seem easy to them.
But, when they tried it while walking not focusing, Jace accidently got little negative mana energy and lost control.
Rusk quickly grabs Jace, and he put his own positive energy into Jace's body to get rid of the negative energy.
Kael, worried, ran towards Jace, "What happened to him, is he okay".
"Everything is fine, just take a little break for a while" Rusk answered. Then he went to get something to eat.
"Are you okay, Jace ?", Kael said , "It seems something went wrong".
Jace with a sad face, "I think i was overconfident when i tried to imitate Rusk".
"Don't be sad, i am sure we can do it, if we try hard enough", Kael tried to cheer him up.
While they were resting, Kael tried to copy Rusk. Without focusing, he ran back and forth for a time, but there was no luck. After seeing Kael like this, Jace stood up and joined him in the training.
During their running back and forth, Rusk slowly watched them from a distance, hiding his presence.
Suddenly, they both did it. They were able to gather mana without focusing. And Rusk jumped towards them:
"You did it, congrats.".
The boys were startled and crashed into each other.
"Yo what the hell was that old man, you scared us" Kael yelled at Rusk.
But Rusk was happy, "Hey look i got us a deer, this is for celebration, I will cook it nice and easy".
The boys became overjoyed, because it was one of their desires to eat a deer.
Rusk put the deer to the ground, and said "Hey listen up, now i am gonna teach how to search your surroundings".
"You could even use this to detect your enemies, animals, and for finding mana energies".
The boys became even happier. Rusk first showed them how it is done. By gathering enough mana he spread the mana for twenty five meters diameter. In that area, he could sense everything.
Then he started to explain it:
"Look guys, first as always gather positive mana energy, then you spread it around your surroundings, after that you sense for mana in objects. That's how you do it".
First, Kael tried he could do it for 3 meters and he could sense insects under a rock nearby . He was disappointed in himself. He thought he was nothing compared to Rusk.
Rusk complimented him, "Impressive, you could do it for 3 meters".
Kael gained his confidence after hearing Rusk.
Now it was Jace's turn, he did not do bad himself. In fact he did little over two meters.
"Now that you have learned how to do the search spell, We can go back and eat something" Rusk said it and took the deer with him to the cabin.
Jace suggested, "Let's head back after some tarining again until food is ready".
Kael agreed with him, "I think it will be very good to work on our mana-gathering skills".
Jace replied, "That's what i wanted to do too".
They trained for a long time, they did not even know that it got dark quickly. After they realized it they rushed to the cabin, messing around with each other about who is going to eat the most.
Along the way, an arrow went flying between them, suddenly couple of men appeared and blcoked their way. They were scared, and tried to run away, but they were already surrounded by them.
One of them asked with deep voice, "Where is that traitor, Torian Ironlaw, Where did he go ?".
"What ... What are talking about? Who is that ?", replied Kael with a shaky voice.
"It would be best if you cooperate with us, We know your relationship with him, if you bring him to us, we will spare your lives".
"We really don't know about the man you are looking for", Kael answered.
"If we knew such man, we would tell you", Jace added.
"Take the dark haired boy" he implied to Kael.
"No no, what are you doing stop this right now", Jace shouted and tried to help. But their leader punched him, and Jace went flying to hit the tree.
Their leader said calmly, "If you bring the man you are living with to me, i will let go of your friend over there. But if you try to resist and don't do what i said, i will kill your friend by tearing him apart".
Jace was terrfied, as they were leaving with Kael, their leader said, "We will be near a huge rock by the river, bring him there by dawn".
Jace collapsed to the ground crying:
"Why, why we were living a peaceful life, why, what did we do ?".
He stood up, wiping his tears off with vengeful eyes and said to himself, "I will kill you bastards even if i die in the process".
He first went to the cave where they found treasures. In there he found a sword left behind by Edward Marshall. He picked it up with his heart full of hatred and went to question Rusk.
When he reached the cabin, Rusk already prepared everything, only thing left was to eat it. Once he saw Jace alone with a sword releasing negative mana energy.
He asked Jace, "Where is Kale?, Where did you find that sword?, What happ--".
Jace cut him when he was talking, with eyse that could pierce through your heart, "Who are you? Are you really Rusk? Torian Ironlaw !!".
