Chapter 5 Handling Seven or Eight Opponents at Once Is Nothing

"Only 1.31 million Hong Kong dollars in the company account?" Lin Haoran looked up and asked.

Among this, one million had been left by his father, which meant that over the past two months, the cement factory had earned him only 310,000 HKD.

"Yes, Boss. When Chairman Lin handed over Huafeng Cement Factory to you at the beginning of July, there were one million HKD in the account. This amount has remained untouched," the finance manager Miss Lin explained while organizing her documents.

"After deducting expenses for July, we had a profit of 180,000 HKD. That month, production and sales were still fairly normal. However, last month, because many old clients stopped buying from us, the revenue dropped significantly, and the profit was only 130,000 HKD."

"The financial data for the first few days of September hasn't been compiled yet, so the August report shows 1.31 million HKD in the account."

The profit had dropped from 180,000 to 130,000 HKD in just one month—a huge decline.

"Given the current trend, how much profit can we expect this month?" Lin Haoran continued asking.

"At this rate, it will be impossible to exceed 100,000 HKD in profit this month. It will likely fall between 50,000 and 100,000 HKD. Boss, if this continues, it will be bad for the company. Before you took over, our average monthly profit was around 200,000 HKD," Miss Lin said worriedly. But as the finance manager, she had no authority to intervene in other company matters.

Lin Haoran nodded. Of course, he understood why Huafeng Cement Factory had declined so much.

It wasn't because of his lack of management ability, but because of Lin Haoning's secret sabotage.

Although he didn't yet know exactly how Lin Haoning had lured away their old clients, it would eventually come to light.

His "good elder brother" was truly ruthless. To ensure that Lin Haoran wouldn't have a single chance in the succession competition, he had deliberately dragged down a cement factory that had previously been making over 2 million HKD in annual profits.

Clearly, Lin Haoning wouldn't rest until Huafeng Cement Factory was completely destroyed.

Lin Haoran deeply experienced how ruthless Lin Haoning could be.

"Miss Lin, please transfer 1.2 million HKD to my account as soon as possible. I need it for something. Leave the rest in the company as a reserve fund," Lin Haoran said, placing the financial report back on the table.

"Understood, Boss. I'll write up an expense order. Please sign it."

Miss Lin didn't ask any further questions. After all, the company was now entirely Lin Haoran's. If he wanted to withdraw funds, it was perfectly justified.

Lin Haoran looked over the expense order. Seeing no issues, he signed it directly.

"I'll be heading back to the city for a while. Please help me keep a close eye on Huafeng Cement Factory, and call me immediately if anything happens," Lin Haoran said as he stood up, ready to leave.

He knew Miss Lin's background well—she was a financial expert personally cultivated by his father Lin Wanan.

At this time, mobile phones didn't exist yet, but pagers were already popular among Hong Kong's upper class. As a wealthy heir, Lin Haoran naturally owned a pager.

Thus, if Miss Lin needed to contact him, he could be reached anytime.

"Rest assured, Boss. I'll keep watch," she replied.

Leaving the finance office, Lin Haoran went down to the ground floor.

At a glance, he spotted Lin San supervising a loading operation near the warehouse.

Lin Haoran walked over.

"Good morning, Boss," Lin San and several workers greeted him upon seeing him approach.

"Lin San, where are Lin Yi and the others?"

"Boss, they're all in the production workshop."

"Go call Lin Yi, Lin Er, and Lin Si. Tell them to meet me at the dormitory building. I have something to discuss."

"Yes, Boss. Please wait a moment."

Lin Haoran didn't linger and headed directly toward the dormitory area.

Having found a great opportunity to make money, he was eager to return to the city.

Staying in this rural backwater of Yuen Long was a complete waste of time.

Even if Lin Haoning continued to cause trouble, at most, Huafeng Cement Factory would lose a few tens of thousands of dollars.

But by returning to Hong Kong's city center, Lin Haoran was aiming to make real money.

Soon, he arrived at the dormitory where Li Weiguo and Li Weidong were staying.

The previous day, Lin Haoran had taken the two brothers on a stroll around the area, much to their excitement.

The local border patrol officers knew Lin Haoran as the young master of the Lin family, so even if they spotted him with unfamiliar faces, they wouldn't dare question him.

The dormitory door was open, and to Lin Haoran's surprise, Li Weiguo and Li Weidong were doing push-ups.

"418, 419, 420, 421..." Li Weiguo counted as he moved.

Both of them were in perfect rhythm, clearly used to training together.

"Ah, Young Master, you're here," Li Weidong noticed Lin Haoran first and stopped his workout.

Li Weiguo also stopped and got up from the floor.

"Did I interrupt your training?" Lin Haoran asked with a smile.

Judging by their robust, well-defined muscles, Lin Haoran could tell they were strong fighters.

"Not at all, Young Master. We were just doing some light exercises to aid our recovery," Li Weiguo replied.

"Looks like you've almost fully recovered. Perfect. Today, I'll take you to the city center. Once there, you can apply for your Hong Kong ID cards, and you won't have to worry about being checked anymore," Lin Haoran said with satisfaction.

Since he was heading back to the city, he might as well take care of their legal status too—it wouldn't take much time.

Li Weiguo and Li Weidong's faces lit up with excitement. They almost spoke in unison, "Thank you, Young Master!"

At that moment, Lin Haoran noticed something surprising: the loyalty levels of Li Weiguo and Li Weidong had increased.

Li Weiguo: [Loyalty: 84/100]

Li Weidong: [Loyalty: 89/100]

Clearly, showing care and kindness to subordinates was an effective way to boost their loyalty.

"By the way, you mentioned your fighting skills were good. How good exactly?" Lin Haoran asked.

Li Weiguo scratched his head and confidently said, "Young Master, even if five or six strong young men attacked me at once, I could handle them easily."

"Haha, I'm even better than my big brother. I could take on seven or eight at once without a problem!" Li Weidong boasted proudly, patting his chest.

Li Weiguo didn't argue, indirectly admitting that his brother was slightly stronger.

Were they really that good?

Lin Haoran was somewhat skeptical.

Just then, Lin Yi and the others arrived.

A thought suddenly occurred to Lin Haoran—wasn't this a perfect opportunity to let them experience firsthand just how skilled these two brothers were?

Lin Haoran was well aware of the combat abilities of Lin Yi and the others.

Although they were traitors, their martial skills were quite impressive—they could easily take down three to five ordinary men without much trouble.

This was one of the reasons Lin Wanan had entrusted them with protecting Lin Haoran's safety in the first place.
