Chapter 36: The show hasn't even started yet, how could I leave!
At that moment, Cecilia Clarke, standing next to Charlotte Walker, was feeling quite pleased with herself. Mimicking Charlotte's icy demeanor, she looked at Chasel Mills and sneered, "President Walker has spoken. If you don't leave now, don't blame the security for taking action."
Chasel Mills had slapped her twice, and she remembered it well. Now, with Charlotte Walker's backing, Cecilia felt invincible, free from any worries about Tyra.
But Cecilia wasn't planning to let things go that easily. Kicking Chasel Mills out would only humiliate her. After the press conference today, she intended to make sure Chasel was dealt with properly. She had no hopes for that useless Austin Lewis, but she had a few wealthy second-generation friends. A few words from her would surely get someone to help her out.
Meanwhile, Tyra, standing not far behind Chasel Mills, shook her head at the scene unfolding before her. These privileged kids were trying to curry favor with Charlotte Walker, speaking disrespectfully. If they knew Chasel Mills' true identity, they would probably be begging for his forgiveness on their knees.
If it weren't for Chasel's earlier request for her not to interfere, she would have stepped in by now.Nora Mills watched the scene with a look of growing anxiety on her face.
As Chasel Mills walked into the venue, she had already anticipated this scene. A wave of anger surged within her toward Chasel. Why did she have to come here just to seek humiliation?
She had thought that Tyra was Chasel's backup; at least if something embarrassing happened, Tyra would step in like before and speak up for her. However, Tyra remained completely indifferent this time.
It seemed that even though Chasel and Tyra knew each other, their relationship was not as strong as she had assumed. Tyra might not care about someone like Austin Lewis, but when it came to Charlotte Walker and all the other privileged kids, she was unwilling to intervene.
From Nora Mills' perspective, Chasel Mills had clearly overestimated her relationship with Tyra. But here she was, with an ordinary background, unable to help at all. All she could do was feel anxious!
Samir, out of respect for Nora Mills, chose to remain silent. However, he couldn't hide the glee on his face. With Tyra not speaking up, he thought, who could possibly come to your aid now?
Facing the crowd's jeers, Chasel Mills remained unfazed, her expression showing no signs of distress. With a hint of amusement, she looked at Charlotte Walker and said, "Do you really think I care about the noise from these nobodies?"
"The show hasn't even started yet, so how could I leave?"
Waste of space?
At this, everyone was taken aback. Then, anger began to spread across their faces.
If their earlier hostility toward Chasel Mills was merely an attempt to impress Charlotte Walker, now they were genuinely furious.
This guy had insulted all of them, the elite of society!
"Are you going to leave or not?"
At that moment, a sharply dressed, handsome young man stepped forward.
It was Clark Sims, the member of the Shen family who had first scolded Chasel Mills!
Clark's expression was anything but friendly.
"Mr. Sims, he doesn't even have an invitation,"Cecilia Clarke whispered, trying to intervene.
However, she didn't mention that it was Tyra who had brought Chasel in.
Clark Sims and the others had been busy chatting and laughing in the hall and hadn't noticed the commotion at the entrance.
In fact, many of them still hadn't realized Tyra had arrived, thanks to Charlotte Walker moving among them.
"Oh? He doesn't even have an invitation? That means he's trespassing. If the security beats him up, it's only fair," Clark Sims said coldly, then called over the security guards.
Clark Sims was nothing like Austin Lewis, who discreetly instructed the security to be ruthless. As a member of the Shen family, one of the four major families in Verdant City, the Royal Court Hotel was one of their properties.
In Verdant City, the Shen family had immense influence. As a direct descendant of the family, even some of the local officials wouldn't dare to offend him lightly.
"Where are the security guards? Break this intruder's legs and call the police. He should be locked up for a few years," Clark commanded the approaching security guards. "Just let them know that I, Clark Sims, am the one reporting it!"
The other privileged youths around him were feeling quite pleased with themselves. With a single statement, he could decide the fate of anordinary person. This was the power they wielded!
In the past, there might have been a few who felt a twinge of justice and compassion, but now, everyone was reveling in the misfortune of the intruder. After all, Chasel Mills' earlier remark calling him a "waste" encompassed them all.
If someone wanted to associate with the upper class, they either had to learn to be sycophants or, like some women, use their beauty to climb the Social ladder. There might be a chance for them. But if someone dared to speak out of turn, they would face consequences.
The authority of the social hierarchy was not to be challenged! An ordinary person from thelower class needed to understand their place.
After giving his orders, Clark turned his attention to Charlotte Walker.
"Charlotte, why bother asking him to leave yourself? Allowing such a pest to slip into the hotel is a failure on our part. After today, I'll make sure to tighten up the hotel's security. I hope you won't take offense?" Clark said with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Charlotte Walker's proud face softened into a gentle smile.
"I certainly won't mind. Mr. Sims, you can handle everything as you see fit."
Her smile was breathtaking, captivating everyone around her. Many in the crowd instantly regretted not stepping up first to seize the moment.
What a fantastic opportunity they had missed!
Clark Sims felt his heart soar at Charlotte's special smile directed at him.
Today, he had finally made a lasting and positive impression on her.
After the laughter faded, Charlotte turned to Chasel Mills. "I suggest you leave voluntarily. No one here is someone you can afford to provoke. Don't make things worse for yourself."
Her voice carried a hint of playful laughter.
"Charlotte Walker, you don't need to provoke me.""What you see is just the sky over Verdant City. How could you possibly understand the vastness of the world? You and everyone else here are simply not worth my attention."
"But since you want to see me clash with them, I'll grant your wish."
With that, Chasel Mills lightly waved his hand toward the security guards rushing toward him.
In an instant, the security guards who had rushed toward Chasel Mills were sent flying backward in unison.
They hit the ground, groaning in pain.
"Hiss!"This scene took everyone by surprise.
The crowd collectively gasped.
Even Charlotte Walker's pupils dilated in shock.
What... just happened?
How did he manage to send those guards flying with just a casual wave of his hand?
Could it be that the guards were just acting?
Everyone's expressions were a mix of disbelief and astonishment.
It simply didn't make sense.
Even Samir and Nora Mills, who had seen Chasel take down a dozen or more men in black before, were now wearing looks of utter disbelief.
This was beyond anything they could comprehend.
Before, Chasel Mills was just a guy who could fight pretty well.
But now, was this even humanly possible?
