"You don't need to miss me that much;" He chuckled. "I'll stay in touch the entire time I'll be there." Xiaodan smiled and patted her head.
Bai Xue sighed and smiled in relief now that she was able to cover up her emotions.
It was already early in the night hour, when Xiaodan dropped Bai Xue in front of the apartment building.
They both came down from the motorbike and faced each other smiling. Xiaodan couldn't take his eyes off her and attempted to brush the strands of her hair before Bai Xue took his hand and placed the helmet on it. "When are you leaving?" Bai Xue asked in a soft mumbling voice.
"In few days." He replied as he folded his arms. "What? Do you want to see me off that bad?" Xiaodan chuckled while his head tilted to the side.
"I'm just asking." Bai Xue hit his arm softly and smiled. "I'm going in, bye." As Bai Xue turned to leave, Xiaodan grabbed her hand and hugged her tight. "I'm really going to miss you." He said while still hugging her.
Bai Xue pressed her lips together and squeezed her eyes shut while Xiaodan sniffed in her scent. She remained in his arms for few minutes before Xiaodan decided to release her and pat her head.
Bai Xue stared at his face and was almost moved to tears; she swiftly strode in through the entrance without saying goodbye. If she stood there for few more minutes, she knew tears would roll down, so she quickly went into the house. Xiaodan watched her back as she strode off with smiles on his face. "I'll come back and make you mine." He muttered to himself nodding in affirmation.
He had a big smile plastered on his face even after he left. He couldn't stop thinking about the plans he has to make Bai Xue his wife and the beautiful moments they'll have together. And the truth is that he has a crush on Bai Xue and has always thought about how to approach her in an intimate manner. But with the way Bai Xue rejected his kiss earlier, he thought she needed time to process everything.
When Bai Xue entered the house, she met Bai Shu sitting on the couch with her eyes fixed on the door as usual. By the sight of that, Bai Xue rolled her eyes and shook her head as she walked straight to her room. Another drama is about to begin between mother and daughter since Bai Xue isn't ready to watch that unfold, she quickened her steps and entered her room. Bai Shu's expression remained neutral with her focus on the door.
Bai Xue didn't bother checking on her mother in the room because she knew her mother already resumed to her hospital duties. She sat down on her bed and sighed. She picked up her phone from her bag and quickly checked if she had missed calls but there weren't any calls.
The night went by without a call from anyone not even the person she was expecting to call her. Bai Xue slept late due to different imaginations about her upcoming marriage. "What if he's a red flag? What if he won't love me? Does he have a girlfriend? Will he pay attention to me? I hope we really have a good relationship with each other. Is he being forced into this marriage?" All of these questions were what she muttered to herself and thought about till she fell asleep at midnight.
Very early in the morning by 5AM the alarm on her phone rang and woke her up. She stood in a rush and staggered to the vanity stool to prepare for her interview. Her eyes were somewhat red and had bags under them. Due to the lack of good amount of sleep, her face looked slightly puffy and pale. Immediately she saw her face in the vanity mirror, Bai Xue gasped in shock while checking her eye-bags. She quickly ran into the kitchen to prepare ice to reduce the swelling.
Hours later, Bai Xue is already in the taxi dressed in her black suit attire with her hair styled in a messy ponytail paired with dropping earrings and black stilettos. Her long black hair flowed behind her as her focus is completely on her tablet. Swiftly, the taxi pulled up in front of a tall building. The color of the building from outer view is mixture of champagne gold and black. Its shape looking like that of a Trapezoid.
Bai Xue gasped at the design of the building from the outer view. She had her mouth opened slightly till she entered through the revolving door at the entrance. She nodded in agreement with the designs because the view is really screaming the works of an architect.
Without wasting much of their time, all intern applicants were taken into the waiting room for further screening. They were also assigned numbers. Bai Xue was given number 5. The applicant only consisted of 20 individuals, so the room wasn't congested.
Moments later, four people came into the room to explain how the interview process would be. While they were lecturing the applicants and some of them asked questions that raised fear in the rest. They tried assuring them to remain calm but some of them already started having panic attacks.
Bai Xue kept tapping her legs together few minutes after they left while practicing the breathing technique to calm herself before a lady beside her placed her hand on her lap gently. "You don't really have to be scared, it's just an interview, so relax." The lady said with a confident smile on her face. Bai Xue glanced at her before answering; "of course, it is."
The lady thought Bai Xue was scared considering the interview, but it was something else that bothered her. It's the chances of running into her soon to be husband at the company, which she isn't ready for.
The lady tapped Bai Xue's leg again and started a conversation with her. "Wow! I can't believe we are sitting next to each other." The lady whispered while pointing towards the number tag on Bai Xue's chest. "Everyone is sitting in different order of their numbers, we are the only one siting in order." The lady chuckled.
Observing the numbers on each applicant's chest doesn't seem to follow each other. Bai Xue glanced around and noticed the lady was right and nodded. The number on the lady's chest is 6 with Bai Xue being 5.
"Hi, I'm Wu Yuxin, an applicant just like you." She smiled while introducing herself. Bai Xue did the same and smiled. They both continued to converse about the exterior designs of the company building before they started the first session of the interview.
