And so the training began. Elder Ming first brought over a large amount of resources from the clan: jade root, royal honey, bone nectar, spirit gathering powder, jade song spirit tea, the list went on and on. With elder Ming overseeing his whole growth, there was no way for him to "cheese" his way out of this.
The years passed in unrelenting torture. Sometimes it was so bad Wu Zhi tried his best to run away. With elder Ming watching over him though, each attempt was a joke. The clan never stopped it's flow of resources they seemed more determined for him to reach flawless bones then even he did himself.
In year one of hell, Wu Zhi managed to have a crystalline texture on his bones. This year was spent with the most resources as the clan seemed to supply him with jade root and royal honey the most. With the progress he was making the clan even seemed more eager to help.
In year two of hell, Wu Zhi bones grew a bit transparent, it was becoming more and more obvious to Wu Zhi what type of bones these were. And it seemed he wasn't the only one to notice this. The clan only grew more and more fervent with their support. At this point he was wondering if the clan was bankrupting itself to support him. But that seemed to be a more ludicrous idea. With high level cultivators in the clan and all the context clues given to him it really seemed like the Gu clan was just that rich.
It was during year 3 of hell that it happened.
"Son, come here" elder Ming said with a grin on his face.
Wu Zhi learned that whenever his father was smiling it was bad news.
Elder Ming had him sit in the tea house that they had first sat in when he first came to the flower garden estate. Wu Zhi had come to appreciate and love the flower garden estate. It was the people or rather the person in it that he was not so fond of.
"What can I do for you father" Wu Zhi said with his trained fake smile.
"Nothing, nothing just come here and drink some tea with your father" as his grin grew wider and wider.
"Of course I can accompany you for some tea" as Wu Zhi got more and more worried.
It wasn't until the servant came and carefully placed a tea cup in front of Wu Zhi that he realized what was going on. The servant who brought the tea tried their best but he could tell that they were making sure they didn't spill any like their life depended on it. 'It's the tea' he spotted the problem right away.
"Go on drink son, I had this one specially prepared for you" realizing the cat was out the bag elder Ming didn't even try to hide it anymore.
"The clan has taken great effort to get this tea for you, there's even a chance that you will form your flawless bones after drinking this" elder Ming said.
Wu Zhi sat there like a statue, stone cold face not moving a muscle. It looked like his strategy was to pretend that he didn't even exist.
Elder Ming grew impatient as he had a glint to his eyes and said "Drink, son, it is improper to waste this gift" he said in a stern tone.
'*Sigh*' Wu Zhi sighed in his heart as he had no choice but to drink whatever this was. He was a master at this point at taking medicine, there was really only one way to do so. Ignoring the heat of the tea Wu Zhi drunk the entire cup in one setting, gulping down the hot liquid trying his best not to taste it.
Elder Ming gave him a weird look "uhh... oh no, I didn't mean the whole thing all at once" he looked genuinely concerned.
"What did I just drink" Wu Zhi asked with a stone cold face.
"That was bone bonding tea... made from a bone bonding spirit leaf" elder Ming replied.
"What" Wu Zhi said with a dead look in his eyes.
but before elder Ming could reply the medicine had made its way into his bones. He collapsed on the floor unable to move an inch. As his bones popped and creaked he could feel impurities streaming out of the bones. It felt like hell and heaven all at once, doing nothing but making him a vegetable on the floor. His bones moved, squirmed, and arranged themselves in different ways. He looked like an abomination with his bones moving all on their own inside his flesh. *Crack!* *POP* *Boom* his bones continued to break themselves to remove the impurities inside and then rearrange themselves back in order stronger then before. Wu Zhi had long passed out from the pain but the transformation continued. His bones seemed to gain a new quality to them as they became more and more complete. *Crack* with one final crack the transformation seemed to stop. Eager to see if It had worked elder Ming inspected his son.
"It worked" he said in a low voice. "IT WORKED!" he start laughing like a madman dancing around the room.
Maids and servants who saw this suddenly had an ashen expression on their faces. They looked at each other and one immediately said "you saw nothing". As they all seemed to understand they went back to work without a hint that showed that they knew anything.
Elder Ming stopped his laughing as he suddenly had a serious expression to his face. "I have to expel the impurities from his body since he's unconscious" elder Ming said as he silently went to work.
