Chapter 3 - IV:They talk casually!

‎"Since we're done here, I'll go check on those two." Shine made up her mind. "I'm sorry who?" Lauri replied with an annoyance.

‎"Excuse me—"Sensing that Lauri seems mad, she finally realized what she had done to get on her nerves again.

‎"Oooh. Okay. Let me make it clear. My answer "No" just a moment ago was for your question. Who i meant by what i said wais Ray. Or maybe it goes both i don't know I'm really confused if what i did was wrong or right." Shine said with a distressed expression.

‎"Now what, uhh. This is just my weakness!" "Now you made me more confused than you are." Lauri stopped what she was doing and came to her.

‎"I—" Shine was about to explain again when her big sister cut her off. "You didn't do anything wrong, okay. Both of you. You guys were too young to understand things, and it's not like it's too late is it?" She reassured her while looking at Shine straight in the eye and holding both her arms.

‎"Thanks sis." She gave her a warm smile, but the atmosphere was cut short when Lauri set her back in the present. "Now, who were you going to check on to?"

‎"Who, oh. I was talking about, our cousin and Lara." She felt awkward as she answered. "I was about to get emotional with her, seriously." Shine rolled her eyes secretly before turning to face Lauri again. "Mistane and Lara. Okay, go help her out when you want to and when you can. Anyways, where's Larcy?"

‎"I was finishing repairing the fence, i was only able to repair the doors to the barn yesterday afternoon, Dear. Ahaha." He said trying to distract Larcy from scanning the ground with scrapped metals. "If that is so, please be careful as well. Stay safe, Sir Luke." Larcy replied with an energetic voice.

‎Sensing something was off, she ran back to the kitchen. "Oh, there you are." Greeted Lauri. "Are you about to go to the Mistane, sis?" Larcy asked, as she looked in Shine's direction. "Um, yeah. Why do you ask?" Somewhat confused by her question.

‎"I want to help as well, let's go!" She ran forward and grabbed Shine's right arm and dragged her out of the kitchen. "Hey! Slowdown." Shine was surprised and didn't have time to react that she almost tripped herself.

‎"What's up with her? Too much energy in the morning ehh? Should have been used to help me here as well." Lauri helplessly said as she looked at her surroundings, feeling like she wants to organize the whole kitchen.

‎"Alright, alright. You can help, just slow down a bit i almost tripped myself." Shine was feeling annoyed but somewhat thankful. "Come on, let's go! Let's run!" Larcy said with urgency. Shine can't help but smile at her energetic mood today. "Okay, okay, now run!"

‎Trying to cater to her sister's wants, Shine ran faster, Larcy almost couldn't keep up. "Wait!" Larcy felt like she was out of breath but tried to match her big sis' pace. "You asked for it. Hahaha." Shine laughed. Seeing her big sister happy, Larcy can't help but feel elated.

‎"Now, don't you think it's time to answer my question?" Rye asked Ray again with a serious tone. "And don't you think you're asking at the wrong time?"

‎"What wrong time?" Rye felt annoyed seeing that he can't read his big brother's mind nor understand what he was trying to imply since a while ago. "I was supposed to just give you my presence, not my words." Ray felt exhausted. *Cough*

‎Maybe it was due to the fact that it was still cold considering it's still early in the morning. Rye felt bad for both of them. "He must've felt chilled trying to comfort me here outside and stay despite all this. Such a crappy behavior I've shown."

‎Ray stayed despite not feeling well, and Rye lost something dear to him so early this morning. "What a crappy day." Ray sighed. "Big sister Shine might get mad at me if big brother's condition worsened." For a moment, Rye felt scared again.

‎"You know what, let's go inside." Rye said, trying to comfort himself. "You sure? You had all the time to mourn now. I said it's a crappy day but not for you i guess?" Somehow, Ray is not in the mood to explain himself. "You can't be sure of that. We still have a long day ahead of us."

‎"Everything seems to come at a price." Ray said, seemingly deep in his thoughts. "I understand, now let's go make the most of it. You said it yourself. I've got time." He didn't. In fact Rye didn't understand what he was saying at all. But he felt like he knew, what Ray said felt so familiar to him, to both of them. Something made him felt unease, like that sentence describes their family.

‎"Have you seen our cousin?"

‎"Have you seen Lara?"

‎Shine and Larcy said at the same time. "Whoa!" Rye almost jumped when he heard his big sister's voice. Ray looked at his two sister with a straight face looking nonchalant but deep down the two girls shocked him too.

‎"Uh, y-yeah. We just happened to passed by them awhile ago." Rye lied straight to Shine's face. He was so scared he felt like he was caught in a crime red-handed. "Is that so?" Shine said casually, but her question feels like interrogation to Rye.

‎"It's true, they headed that way. The same direction you just come from. I'm surprised you didn't cross paths." Ray plays along trying not to expose Rye. "Hmm, where could they be now?" Shine pondered.

‎Somehow Larcy felt chills down her spine. "That direction, please make them not be outside..." She felt urgency to run after them but seeing the twins interact this peacefully. She starts to overthink.

‎"Please don't get mad that we're outside." Rye said to himself hoping that Shine won't make it hard for him. Somehow, Ray felt confused seeing how distressed Rye is. From his perspective, Shine had always favored Rye. That's why, he doesn't understand why Rye is acting this way now.

‎"Please don't point it out. Please don't notice." Rye's thoughts are exploding. "You guys should go after them, it hasn't been that long. You'll be able to find them right away." Ray said calming down Rye's nerve.

‎"Oh thank you big brother! You're a life saver!" Larcy felt relieved. "What? Oh, yeah. Well go now." Larcy looked at her big sister, hearing her say that seems off. "He probably doesn't even wanna talk to me probably." Shine said, degrading herself once again. "Sis..." The two younger siblings felt guilty, seeing her disappointed face.

‎Meanwhile, Ray stayed looking at them with a straight face. "Seriously. If it wasn't because of what you did earlier, i would assume you were a cold blooded deamo—." *Sigh* Rye somewhat feels that he understood his big brother's character more for the first time.

‎Shine turned to leave, and Larcy followed suit while looking back at her big brother. "That's weird. Big sister didn't even look at big brother Rye. She didn't even talk to him. Hmmm..." Larcy was deep in her thoughts so Is Rye.

‎"She didn't talk to me, is she mad? Will she confront me later because i let big brother stay outside for this long. They were talking through the window all this time. Aaaaagh!" Rye felt even more afraid thinking what might happen when it's just him and his big sister, Shine.

‎"Let's go?" Ray said calmly. "Huh? Um. Right let's go inside." Rye felt relieved for a moment. Today is the twins longest interaction in whole history in Rye's memory. He thought, maybe it won't be that bad to talk with her big sister, Shine, alone.

‎Meanwhile, Larcy is stressing out inside her head, overthinking every possible thing that could happen if they don't get to the two girls first.
