Chapter 4 - An enemy of Gods.

???

"What in the hell?" Deller was dumbfounded.

As he thought that he had seen it wrong, he glanced at the screen again.

Rowan D Eller

Potential Fulfilled: 64%

Estimated potential: Yellow

…After his brain short circuited for a while, his brain started working.

"Since when was my name Rowan D Eller? Did my mother hide my name by merging the initial D with my first name?

Hmm that should be the case, after all I've never heard my mother mention my father, so the D should come from him."

After thinking if there were other possibilities, Eller came to a conclusion. "It's probably the most likely option, afterall the current world government did the same to Gol D Rogers name and turned it into Gold Roger."

After Eller had finished theorising about his name his attention was pulled to the rest of the system. "Potential fulfilled: 64%. What does that mean? Along with that Estimated potential: Yellow. I remember that Ruth had more potential fulfilled compared to me, I think the Potential fulfilled was 76%. Does that mean that our growth is going to hit a ceiling, in the near future."

Eller, while stressing about it, pulled himself together. "No, I have too little information and reference points about this potential rating. But that Estimated potential should indicate the innate potential each individual possesses. Like I have Yellow and Ruth has Blue, Estimated potential. Hmm my speed, strength and endurance are all above Ruth, but my fulfilled potential is still at a lower level, compared to Ruth. This should indicate that my innate potential is above Ruth."

After coming to such a conclusion Eller had a problem. "Okay so the colors in estimated potential are indicators of how far a person's innate potential can carry them?. That should be the case, but now I have to find out the ratings of potential colors. But I at least can use my previous lifes rarity classifications in games as a rough depiction. Usually in games white or gray are common so that may be one of the classifications, then in order we have green which is uncommon my (Intense gaze, Green) is probably at this level.

Then we move to the rare classification which is usually blue my (Followers loyalties, Blue) is probably at this level. those were the easy ones to identify since almost all games have those classifications." Thinking about this, Eller had a headache.

"But why does practically every game from this point on use epic, legendary and mythic as different colours. Games can use any of those colors for epic classification. And I haven't even seen a white, a purple or a red color in anything yet so I can't even be certain that they exist."

"Well, since I can't figure it out, I'll just go to sleep. Maybe tomorrow when I check the potential of the villagers I can find out something new.

After getting a good night's rest, Eller woke up refreshed.

After going through his morning routine, Eller went to cook breakfast like always, but when his mom showed up he quickly greeted her and continued cooking.

As he took a look at her, the (Intense gaze, Green) gave him her potential

Halif Diana

Potential Fulfilled: 85%

Estimated potential: Purple

"Hmm, she has fulfilled a lot of her potential so she should have trained at some point in time. But purple colored potential, I wonder if it's above or below yellow. It's probably below considering that in the original series, all people with the initial D were monsters in their own right. The monkey family, each person was more monstrous than the last, Marshall D Teach

had ability to own multiple devil fruits, the pirate king had the D, Then there was Rocks, along with that Trafalgar law was a person with D in his name, but we probably don't even know about the numerous Ds that there were on the seas since the world government has probably erased them from history."

"But there is an annoying thing, and that is that I can't tell how strong anyone is, I can just see the potential of people.

I wonder how strong she is, I should ask her some day but for now I'm in quite the hurry.

After eating breakfast Eller quickly bounced off to drag Ruth to uncle Karrit's and aunt Miila's.

At the same time he had the intention of checking the potential of people around the village.

As he checked villager after villager his theory was partially confirmed. He only saw white estimated potential on most villagers, only villages smith had green as estimated potential.

After kidnapping Ruth from his home, Eller quickly took him to uncle Karrit's and aunt Miila's for some education, as for how Ruth had managed to stay still for the half day, when uncle Karrit's and aunt Miila was educating them, on basic knowledge about making food and food storing. Eller gave this credit to his (Followers loyalties, Blue).

"Thanks uncle Karrit and aunt Miila! I will drop Ruth here for a couple hours a day from now on." As Eller finished speaking. Ruth immediately started protesting. "Why would you drop me here? You're not my mom!"

As Eller, Karrit and Miila were laughing at Ruth's indignant behavior, Eller was dragging Ruth to the edge of the island for training.

Like this a whole year of training and peaceful days had passed.

Eller and Ruth had started to use wooden bats and swords for fighting. While Ruth was fighting with a wooden sword, Eller had found it too light and weak, he switched to a wooden bat, as they trained it quickly became evident that Eller had a great edge over Ruth.

But unlike a year ago Eller and Ruth had gained a companion. And right now Eller was fighting against both of them.

"Heh Ruth your swings are too light, you give me opportunities to make this fight a constant one versus one, because I can just hit one of you from commission when I need to take a breather against you!" Eller boasted.

Guret started to get annoyed. "If we were so weak then just beat us!"

While Eller ignored Gurets mediocre taunts, his thoughts wandered to the past three months ago. Guret had been aboard a merchant vessel where his parents had been navigators, while Guret had not learnt navigation for a long time he was still miles ahead of Eller and Ruth in this aspect. As such when Guret joined Eller and Ruth in their mischief, he explained about his skill in navigation. When Eller learnt about this, he practically dragged him to the village's fishermen and then practically begged them to teach Guret when they were preparing to go to sea, lucky for Guret, he was only dragged a couple of times a week to the fishy docks to learn.

When Eller looks back on his first meeting with Guret, he was quite surprised by his status.

Ulett Guret

Potential Fulfilled: 31%

Estimated potential: Blue +1

At first he was surprised by blue +1 in the estimated potential, but when Guret was dragged to train it was surprised that his fulfilled potential rose by 22% in just 1 and a half months.

After that happened a theory was born in Ellers mind. "Maybe Estimated potential was not set in stone." After all, how can we explain some characters practically becoming different people in the original story after eating devil fruits. So a new theory was that there is a way to increase estimated potential.

The ways that Eller had thought of were 1. Devil fruits, 2. Awakening of haki and 3. The one that Guret had most likely experienced, that was a positive change in mindset that will influence one's character. Things like having a firm mindset, some goal that is born from people's desires, things like revenge, freedom, domination.

And 4. Was growth, in their current age they are growing rapidly for example in the year that had passed Eller had grown 13 cm, while Ruth had grown 15 cm. and their growth was not limited to hight, some days Eller had checked his status and had found his fulfilled potential to have gone down in percentages even though he had clearly gotten stronger. From this he understood that at their current age their potential was constantly rising.

From this he found out that fulfilled potential is just a percentage which records your state's current potential that had been fulfilled.

"And now a clear answer to why people like Rogers and Luffy went to sea in their early adulthoods. It's because their potential continued to grow naturally and they had room to grow stronger when they were young. And this natural growth stopped when they hit their early adulthoods. Of course, other reasons why went to the sea, might be reasons like Luffys where he wanted to go to have an adventure in the sea."

This gave Eller reassurance that he did not need to go to the sea for the foreseeable future.
