Eller has found an even better way to increase strength and potential.
It began when Eller thought about the original series.
In the original series the main crew within 3 years, transformed from newbies in the east blue to billion beli pirates in the new world.
So like always, when he had something that he thought was going to work, he tested it with his two lab rats.
And so began the unfortunate days for the two "Followers" of Eller.
In conclusion Eller found the beasts on the island and tracked their habits and approximate strengths and simply threw Guret and Ruth to their midst. While their weeks-long survival game began Eller continued monitoring them from a safe distance where he could intervene if something happened.
After Ruth and Guret had managed to beat many beasts they simply went home without even glancing at Eller.
And Eller was not surprised by this, but he also was not too happy from the result of this training exercise. Because this barbaric training method actually worked.
In less than a week Ruth and Guret had visibly grown stronger compared to before and while his. (Intense gaze, Green) could not determine that.
And why would their growth not be mirrored in their stats compared to before, you may ask?
It's because their Fulfilled potential actually went down!
This means that their potential has grown more compared to their strength.
This growth was later seen in the fights against the two that were completely different compared to before. They were faster, stronger but what caused him more trouble was their more aggressive fighting style compared to before.
This increase in strength and potential made Eller make a drastic decision, he informed his and Ruths mother that they were going camping in the woods.
Of Course Eller had not informed Ruth and Guret beforehand. They were only informed about this when Eller was already dragging them even deeper to the island.
"Hey, why do we even need to come here, Eller?" Guret questioned in irritation.
And why would Guret call him Eller instead of Deller you may ask?, it's because a few months ago Ruth had accidentally called him that and Guret had immediately adopted it.
(It's because it's troublesome for them to keep calling him Deller in conversations when I call him Eller.)
"Haven't i told you a million times already, we're here because we will grow at a far faster rate compared to just physical training at the beaches, along with that our instincts and sense of danger will increase." Eller, fed up, explained.
Though that was true, he left the next unsaid.
"And its preparation for observation haki. Even though it might be more difficult to awaken and improve in comparison to armament haki, it's actually possible to awaken it even if you are weak. Unlike Armament haki where you need to have an incredibly strong body to use it. there are probably other things that affect armament haki but that i can find out in the future.
My main goal is to awaken Observation haki and the secondary focus will be to see if awakening it will increase my potential.
After all the proof that the weak can awaken observation haki is in the sky islands, that one young girl from the shandian tribe, had actually been born with an innate observation haki. Considering that even as a weak child, she had observation haki, which means that awakening observation haki does not rely on one's strength."
A week later deep in the hilly forest.
Eller, Ruth and Guret were sitting in front of a campfire. Around the campfire they had set up camouflage and multiple traps. But right now all three of them were solely focused on the meat that was grilling at the top of the campfire.
"Ruth the next time you are going to do something so reckless, you don't even need the bear to kill you, I will strangle you myself." Guret cursed Ruth for his reckless behaviour. "Next time I won't come to help you!"
"Haha, Guret you are too weak to strangle me. And who said I need help?" Ruth tauntingly replied.
The tired Eller, that was actually saving both of them from their suicidal tendancies, started to get fed up, with their non-stop bantering, made them stop. "If you don't want to eat, I will eat all of the bear's meat.
Not wanting to go hungry for the night, both of them started to dig into the bear's meat.
While not gourmet food, the quality of Ruth's culinary skills had definitely improved compared to the stale fish days on the beach.
While they were extremely tired, they did not drop their vigilance. After all, while they had withstood a whole week deep in the forest, it had not been easy.
Almost every day was a challenge to survive, the only reason they are alive and not maimed was solely to Eller ingenuity.
He had set up multiple traps around their camp which made it easy to lose the beasts of the forest.
And the reason they went up against these beasts was also the reason they came to the forest, to get stronger.
While every day was a challenge for survival they had grown much stronger, while this satisfied Eller what satisfied more were the results that could be seen in the status of the three.
First was whose Potential fulfilled had gone up to 81% at some point.
Ulett Guret
Potential Fulfilled: 31 → 81→ 62%
Estimated potential: Blue +1
The fact that fulfilled potential has gone down is a massive benefit. Those who have a low rate of fulfilled potential grow much faster compared to those whose fulfilled potential rate is high.
Second was Ruth whose potential had nearly reached its limit.

"As for my fulfilled potential, even though I am almost 1.2 times stronger and faster than him, I still gain more potential compared to him. And I probably had less pressure, and less life and death stimulation.
This mirrors my theory on estimated potential, I will simply progress much more with less effort compared to him."
After eating the meat the trio prepared to go home.
As they traveled outward from the deep forest they got lost a couple of times, and this was solely Ellers fault. Both Ruth and Guret started mocking him for being directionally challenged.
But thanks to Guret's efforts they made it back to the village before nightfall.
When Ruths and Ellers mothers saw the two and their ragged appearances, they immediately started lecturing them about safety.
It's fair to say that they will not have a chance to go train in the deep forests for a good while.
After a couple of weeks, at their usual training beach.
"Hey is it just me or have we grown at an unusual pace after the forest trip?" Ruth asked.
As Guret was about to answer, Eller butted in. "It's probably because we experienced danger which helped us stimulate more growth."
As Guret and Ruth were thinking about Ellers explanation, while Ellers himself was thinking about another thing.
"Bodies in One Piece are truly monstrous, pretty much no matter how much we train, we will recover in a good night's sleep along with some food. And this training trip has shown me that encountering life-dangerous situations will accelerate the increase in potential rates by much more than plain training."
Eller wondered about their miraculous growth over the couple of weeks.
