Chapter 8 - IT'S STILL YOU

The next day, the sun had risen. It was around 10am in the morning when Cera, now wearing a compressed suit, wearing white robes as his fists flashed white, fuelling them with aura. To the opposite side of him was Roya, who had her sunglasses on her head, her dark black hair flowing as she put it into a bun, her own hands flowing with essence, her eyes glistening before she adopted a fighting pose, slightly jumping up and down to warm up.

"Don't go too easy on me." She smirked before she pranced towards him with 3 quick short steps, sending her leg flying, performing a roundhouse kick which was quickly avoided by Cera, who quickly lowered himself, staring at her directly in the eyes before creating multiple sheets of paper, pushing her back as he lightly launched himself, landing on his feet, watching as Roya appeared to his right.

"That vision of yours is impressive, Roya...Even after everything.." Cera glanced before he created a right wing, sending a gust of wind to his right as he formulated small shards of paper, sending them directly through the gust of winds, increasing their trajectory as he quickly ran at her. She looked, her eyes glistening a bright colour before she quickly dodged each miniscule attack, rushing directly at Cera.

With both of their attacks, they came into a powerful clash, their energies creating a light gust of wind as they both jumped back, still looking directly at each other. Cera sighed before a thought had sprouted in his mind. Thinking, he sharply looked back, not noticing anything except where they had to cross to reach the council and other areas of Averune. Roya looked at him in confusion, tilting her head.

"Why are you looking back..? I don't think there's anything FOR you to be looking at.." Roya looked, pointing, mocking him. Cera sighed before feeling a chilling presence down his spine. It took a few seconds for it to reach Roya, but her eyes widened as she felt it. The overwhelming, soul-crushing pressure that they both felt had caused them both to stop in their tracks, struggling to even look around to see where the root of the situation was.

"How cute. The sole survivors are training. Let me test you, just so it doesn't all go to waste." They both shuddered as they heard the deep voice. Roya's eyes fluttered as she zoomed directly behind Cera, dropkicking the shadowy figure before he finished speaking, Cera quickly shifting his body around, using his paper to suffocate the body. The figure laughed before ignoring the paper, his upper torso twisting directly to Roya, slamming his fist into her, sending her flying across the grass. Cera's eyes widened, grabbing onto the shadowy figure's face, his wings immediately forming on his back, sending him flying. This was the second day in a row that they'd been getting into fights, and usually, they didn't come out on top. Hopefully, there would be a change.

Over the course of a few minutes, Cera had flown across Averune, keeping his powerful grasp on the shadowy figure before slamming him into the ground. Within seconds, he was quickly blasted with a dark energy, sent backwards as he looked at his burnt clothing. He gritted his teeth, looking as the figure had released it's shadow, revealing it's true form, standing up slowly as he smiled. His pale white skin, his dark purple eyes..and his long, black hair.

"HOW DO YOU FEEL, CERA?! ISN'T IT NICE TO KNOW THAT I'M NOT DEAD?!" The man shouted, laughing as he held his chest, ripping the hilt of a blade out, smiling as Cera disgustingly watched him.

The light from Cera's eyes had completely faded. The one thing he didn't want to do; face his past, yet the one responsible for it stood in front of him. But due to the previous attack, he was already injured. "Despite everything, it's still you. You know...ever since you put that damn curse on me, I've been losing, over and over...but now that I know that you're alive..there's just one thing..I have to do.." He looked at the man in the eyes, the dark blue gaze re-appearing as he clenched his fists, watching the man that took everything away from him.

He wasn't going to let him live any longer.

With the sharp glance exchanged by the two of them, they had fallen quiet. Roya managed to catch up to Cera, but stayed put. She knew and understood. This was Cera's fight. The memories that flooded Cera's head kept on relapsing, causing his eyes to twitch as his eyelids fell. He took a deep breath.

"What's wrong, Cera?? Aren't you going to fight me?? Or do you want to see me kill your friend over there..?" The man laughed before Cera looked at him. The man looked in confusion as to how he was so focused in such a short amount of time, but he brushed it off, knowing Cera wasn't that strong. Not anymore.

"Your name...tell me your name." Cera stared with focus, ready to move at any point. The man smiled as his eyes sparked purple. His ego had reached an all-time high, simply from being asked for his name.

"WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO KNOW?! I AM THE FIFTH CURSED RIGHT, FANU!!" He laughed, but in that moment, he didn't have enough time to react. Cera had appeared DIRECTLY infront of him, his robes floating with his speed as the blade formed directly in front of Fanu's neck. All Fanu saw in front of him, was death staring at him. Those dark blue eyes..the glistening white hair? In that interaction, he knew there was only one thing that he would get out of it, and it wasn't necessarily good for him.

"Take that horrible title out of your name. It won't suit you...because I am your curse. I'm going to make you wish I never survived." Cera glared at him, throwing the blade into the air, slamming his fist in to Fanu's chest.

THE BATTLE BETWEEN FANU AND CERA WILL RAGE ON!
