Chapter 10 - Muyue: "Yes, You Guys Made a Killing"

Watching Muyue's incredibly swift and clean whirlwind kick, Might Guy's eyes instantly lit up. He felt like he had found the jutsu of his dreams, perfectly fulfilling all his fantasies about taijutsu.

It was simple, fast, powerful, and incredibly cool.

"I love it! Please, you must teach me that when the time comes!" Might Guy expressed his satisfaction with the Leaf Whirlwind with full vigor.

"Glad you like it," Muyue smiled and nodded.

Might Guy's reaction was within his expectations. After all, this taijutsu was something Might Guy himself would develop later, even creating an entire series of them, like Great Whirlwind, Strong Whirlwind, and various Leaf Whirlwinds. It would be strange if he didn't like it.

With Muyue's assurance, both Obito and Might Guy were delighted. Even the test papers, which usually gave them headaches, now seemed much more agreeable.

"Watch me go all out! This time, I'll definitely get more than four correct!" Obito excitedly rubbed his hands together, looking like he was about to go into battle.

"I must get at least three correct, or I'll run five hundred laps around Konoha tonight!" Might Guy, desperate to learn his dream jutsu, made a fierce vow, imposing self-discipline upon himself.

He planned to learn this taijutsu and then challenge Kakashi to a match to see how much his strength had improved.

But the sudden burst of enthusiasm faded just as quickly. After attempting a few questions, Obito understood a truth.

If pushed to his limits, he might be able to release a larger Great Fireball, or even throw five shuriken precisely into the bullseye in one go, but for test questions, no matter how desperate he got, there was nothing he could do.

He rested his head on his hand, while his other hand constantly fiddled with his pen in various ways. Annoyed, even the green leaves swaying in the wind seemed to mock him for being unable to solve the problems.

Obito couldn't help but look at Might Guy beside him.

Although he had been classmates with Might Guy for over three years and shared a common friend in Kakashi, they hadn't actually hung out together. Their relationship was quite ordinary.

Not strangers, but not quite friends either, more like friends of a friend who just happened to be in the same class.

When he thought of Might Guy, his first reaction was "dead last".

Although he was also called a dead last, Obito believed he just had some weak subjects. His ninjutsu and shuriken throwing were quite good; it was just his theory that was particularly bad.

It was just that other Uchiha were too outstanding, getting excellent grades in every subject, making him, the imperfect Uchiha, seem like a dead last.

Might Guy, however, was different. Might Guy was bad at both theory and ninjutsu, ranking at the bottom in most subjects, and was widely recognized as the dead last.

But now, Might Guy showed more patience than him. Even though he was scratching his head in frustration, Might Guy was still diligently tackling the difficult problems.

Obito recalled the ambitious words Might Guy had once spoken when he was mocked.

"I believe if I keep working hard like this, I will definitely become the strongest taijutsu ninja!"

Although Obito wasn't one of those who mocked him, he had dismissed the statement when he heard it, not believing Might Guy could become the so-called strongest taijutsu user.

But now his opinion had changed somewhat. Whether he could become the strongest taijutsu ninja was hard to say, but he should be much stronger than those who mocked him.

"Becoming friends with him might not be so bad," Obito muttered. That way, they could team up against that annoying Kakashi.

Watching Might Guy diligently working on the test, Obito also began writing furiously, racking his brains.

Muyue, observing this scene, revealed a thoughtful expression. He hadn't expected that these two together could create such a chemical reaction. Even the usually impatient and restless Obito was influenced and able to calm down and do his work.

In the future, he could use similar methods to motivate Obito in his training.

After the two finished, Muyue helped them grade their papers.

Obito got three correct, and Might Guy got two.

"Ugh, still not four. I tried my best," Obito slumped on the desk, looking completely burnt out. "Add five hundred laps to tonight's run," Might Guy incorporated his failure penalty into his training plan.

Muyue, seeing this, comforted them, "You're actually only five questions away from passing. And you've improved by one question in just an hour. Doesn't that make it seem much better?"

Obito and Might Guy thought about it, and it seemed to make sense. Passing and learning new jutsu were within reach.

After comforting them, Muyue smiled and brought out two more test papers.

Obito looked at the brand new test papers on the desk, then thought about the three weekends left before the exam, and his vision momentarily went black.

But he could only pick up his pen and reluctantly continue, because giving up now would mean all the previous work was for nothing.

Meanwhile, Shisui, who had recovered his chakra, began another round of Fire Style practice. Fire dragons continuously flew in the sky, drawing Obito's attention.

"Teacher Hanyu, after we learn your jutsu, will we also be considered your disciples like Shisui?" Obito thought for a moment and asked.

"If you want to be, then yes," Muyue replied ambiguously.

"Hehe, since we'll be disciples sooner or later, why don't you teach us now, Teacher?" Obito revealed his true intentions.

Muyue cast a suspicious glance. Although this was the result of his deliberate planning, Obito's "Yan country map" was too short.

Obito patted his chest and promised, "Teacher Muyue, I definitely don't want to stop studying. It's just that I think these two things can totally be done together."

Obito then tugged at Might Guy next to him and asked, "Right, Guy?"

"Teacher, I think Obito is absolutely right," Might Guy also wanted to learn the Leaf Whirlwind early so he could compete with Kakashi.

"What if you don't pass then?" Muyue didn't agree immediately, but instead asked back.

"Then, Teacher, whatever you say goes. I'll listen to you," Obito was still very confident about passing.

"Me too," Might Guy nodded in agreement.

"Is that so..." Muyue showed a troubled expression, as if still hesitating.

"Teacher Muyue, please just trust me. I'll definitely study hard with you and won't disgrace you," Obito quickly continued when he saw a chance.

"Me too," Might Guy also clenched his fist and promised.

"Alright then, I'll trust that you can keep your word. After you finish this test, I'll teach you the Great Dragon Fire Jutsu and the Leaf Whirlwind," Muyue said, acting as if he had been persuaded.

"That's great! I knew Teacher Muyue was the best! I definitely won't let you down!" Obito excitedly said.

He felt that today was truly his lucky day; he improved his theoretical scores and gained a powerful teacher for free. He had made a killing.

"Teacher Muyue, I will definitely work hard to master your taijutsu!" Might Guy said seriously.

He also felt incredibly lucky today to have found someone willing to be his teacher and teach him taijutsu.

[Do you want to establish a teacher-disciple relationship with Uchiha Obito?]

[Do you want to establish a teacher-disciple relationship with Might Guy?]

Looking at the two pop-up windows, Muyue revealed a satisfied smile, thinking, Yes, you guys made a killing.
