Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 difficulties

The academy buildings are made of creamy white sandstone, so vast that you can't see them all at once.

Senior students in long robes hurriedly walk by holding heavy tomes, faintly exuding the scent of parchment and ink, and a huge golden dragon stands at the academy gate, looking like a sleeping giant that could awaken at any moment, very majestic.

Ryan was about to enter when the guard at the gate blocked his way with a long sword, "Where did this beggar come from?"

He said, "I am a first-year student, this is my letter of introduction."

The guard kicked him, "Get lost, every year there are plenty of people pretending to be students. You poor guy, can someone like you even afford to study?"

Ryan got angry, "Aren't you afraid of offending the dean by acting like this?"

The guard laughed loudly, "I am the servant of the city lord. To get in, you have topay1 gold coin first."

One hundred copper coins equal one silver coin, and one hundred silver coins equal one gold coin. This is practically extortion.

Ryan has no money.

Can the lord of the city's servant be this arrogant?

A boy about the same age as Ryan walked over, "You have to pay to enter, I've never heard of such a rule."

He waved the letter in his hand and said, "I have a letter of introduction from the Royal Academy, you can't stop me from entering, I am from the Orc Academy."

He actually looked at him the same way Ryan did; Ryan glanced at him one more time.

This boy was wearing coarse linen clothes and didn't look like a noble.

The guard pushed him and said, "You little bastard without parents, these are all noble children inside. If you accidentally offend one of them, you won't even know how you died."

Ryan heard this, his eyes turned terrifying, and he quietly murmured in his mind:Pain.

The guard just now still had an arrogant look, suddenly clutching his head in pain, as if something in his mind was about to explode.

Yes, Ryan had long discovered that he possessed this ability; whenever he concentrated, he could launch a mental attack on others, and he had to teach this guard a lesson.

At this moment, a man dressed very elegantly approached and said, "What is going on here?"

Ryan quickly withdrew his control, and the guard accused, saying, "These two people tried to break into the academy; they might be spies sent from somewhere."

The man disagreed, "Don't judge people by their appearance, these two guys may not look wealthy, but the academy has never selected based on status or position."

He reached out to Ryan and said, "hand me your letters of introduction."

When he saw Ryan's letter, he happily said, "You must be Mr. Smith, the person recommended by the Dragon Knight Dean. The Dragon Knight Dean specifically instructed us to take good care of you."

Ryan was very surprised, and the little boy beside him was even more astonished, saying, "You are really amazing, to have connections with the Dragon Knight Dean. He is famously difficult to get along with."

Ryan thought to himself, could the head of the Dragon Knight Academy be that red-haired man?

The man said, "There are four academies in the entire Royal Academy: the Dragon Knight Academy, the Orc Academy, the Warrior Academy, and the Assassin Academy. The Dragon Knight Academy always ranks first in the annual assessments, so the head of the Dragon Knight Academy is also the top dean here."

The man said, "I forgot to introduce myself. I come from the Green family, and my father is the city lord. You just arrived here, and you need friends. How can these poor and talentless people talk to you? Would you be willing to stay with me from now on?"

The boy was very sad, "It's not my fault that I have no money."

Ryan said, "Mr. Green, since you told the guard at the door not to discriminate against others, I hope youalso follow that rule."

Don't think that just because you have talent, you can be disrespectful to me.

Green was a bit angry, carefully looking atRyan's introduction letter, but he couldn't find any mention of his talent, feeling deceived.

"Who did the Dragon Knight Dean recommend? How did you get in without talent?"

Ryan said, "You have to trust the dean's decision."

Green said, "I am the son of the city lord. Being friends with me will bring you many benefits, but you have to listen to me."

He shook his head and said," My life is mine to control. What I want is freedom, not to be someone's follower."

Green threw the letter in his face, " If you don't want to be my friend, then you can only be my enemy." Saying this, he left angrily.

The boy said, "You're really amazing, daring to offend Mr. Green right after enrolling. My name is Paul, actually my talent isn't that great, I'm just a buffalo, my attack power isn't very strong, I don't have fangs or claws."

Ryan said, "I offended Mr. Green, and you still dare to come near me?"

Paul said, "You helped me at the school gate, I'm willing to, this is for you."

He took out an unremarkable stone, "This is a Memory Stone, given to me by my father, it can record everything that has happened."

Ryan was surprised, "Aren't you out of money?"

"Yes, but this is very cheap. The tuition fee is 10 gold coins per year,I hope you can earn the tuition with me.I don't believe you have no talent. You're so amazing; your talent must be greater than all of ours. It just hasn't awakened yet."

I promise you.

They went together to the freshman registration office and exchanged the letter of introduction for a map of the college, a short knife, and a storage pouch.

This storage pouch was the most interesting; it looked only palm-sized, but all the luggage could be shrunk and put inside.

Ryan and Paul were assigned to the same dormitory, with five people in each dorm.

In this dormitory, there was a tall man with a fierce face, "I heard you are the one recommended by the Dragon Knight Dean, I didn't see how powerful you are, fight me."

The man next to him, a little follower, said, "Our boss is Edward family's heir, much stronger than you."
